Mr. P. M. Story, of Crystal springs, was married yesterday to Mrs. Janies Haire, of Rome. A reception was given at Mr. Story’s home in the eve ning at which quite a number of the friends of both parties were present. The fire was discovered about 2 o’clock in the morning and is thought to have origi nated from a defective chimney. Sarah, the infant daughter of Prof, and Mrs. J. C. King, died last Friday night. The remains were carried to Sardis church, in Floyd county, Sun day for interment. The numerous friends of the bereaved family deeply sympathise with them., The ladies of the Parsonage Aid So ciety have made arrangements with Laing Bros., to give a phonograph concert at Hiles Hall Friday at 7 p. m. Dec. 25. This instrument will give Jus songs by famous singers that can be heard all over the hall. Admission 120 cents for grown people and 10 cents i for children. Mr. C. C. Godwin removed to town , last week and will have charge of the I jail for the coming year. Tbe jail I building has been completely and ' thoroughly renovated and overhauled, inside and out: a new coat of paint has . been put on, and altogether the build ! ing is in better repair than it has been for many years. Mr. Godwin had charge of the work, which has been done in a most thorough and efficient ' manner and reflects credit on his en i ergy and capability.
