The marfhal of the diflrift of Pennfylvania left Philadelphia on Monday laft, for Northamp ton County, where, we learn, the Infurgcnts have increafed in number and outrage, PHILADELPHIA, March 14, By further private accounts from Northampton, we learn, that the infurreftion geathers head there. The marfhal, with a few mounted followers, let oIF again on Monday for the Icenc of in furreftion, with a view of arreft ing fornc of the leading infur gents. Several outrages have been recently committed upon the perfons of the moll refpeftable char afters, by the Northampton rebels, FAYETTEVILLE, March 2. Was apprehended a few days ago, and committed to the gaol of this town, a man for endea voring to pafs 23 twenty dollar Bank Bills of Charleftondcpofit. The Bills on examination were found to be well executed, ex cept the fignature , which appear ed not to be uniform. The man has hnce obtained bail. SAVANNAH, April A letter from Philadelphia to a gentleman it this city, men tions, that Chief Juftice Ells worth, left Philadelphia for Georgia, on the 6th of March. Savannah , April 3, 1799. THE Subfcriber, thinks it his duty to inform the inhabitants of this city, that there is in cir culation, counterfeit Bank Notes of Twenty Dollars of the Branch Bank of the United States, in Charlefton—three Bills of that' denomination has been (hewn to him, at his office.
