When Mr. Elijah Walraven enlisted
in the confederate army in 1868 be
le't behind him a beautiful young wile
and three children. When he re*

war, bis wife and three children
were not to be found. He learned
that she bad been persuaded, when
the federal* occupied this country,
that her safety was In going north,

was alive or deed, he instituted pro
ceedings for divorce, which was gran
ted. Mr. 'Wairavcn married a worthy
lady in this county, who bore him one
child and she died. In the meantime,
his first wife, learning of the divorce
and marriage of her husband In Geor-

posal* and married a northern man,
who, after a brief married life, died,
