A breach of promise case in Illi
nois will present a novel question
for legal decision. The plaintiff was
a good looking girl when the engage
ment was made. A Two years of
courtship passed. w The pmall prx
disfigured her face, and the defend
ant declined to marry her. He
cltum* that, in view o» h?r du'eriora-
tion in personal appearance since he
made the promise, he is not in law or
honor bound to keep it. Justice will
be a<kcd to decide in favor of or
against marrying for beauty.
We take pleasure in adding our
word of commendation to the above.
Mr. Walls has madu many friends

He has just opened an entire new
