LOBBYISTS REPORTED
| |
- AS BEING REGISTERED
There is a law in Georgia requiring
all lobbyists to pay a fee and register
whon they represent before the law
with the Secretary of State, stafing
makers of the state.
The list of registered lobbyists, re
ported by the secretary of state in
response to the resolution of Mr. Pace
of Sumter, and the business for which
the yare lobbying, is as follows:
Arthur G. Powell, Atlanta Tenessee
Copper company, and director general
of railroads; Walter G. Park, Blakely,
proposed new county of Seminole; A.
S. Bussey, Cordele; J. L. Dickerson,
and other movants for said new coun
ty; W. A. Dodson, Americus, commit
tee of city of Atlanta, against capital
removal; William Butt, Blue Ridge,
Ducktown Sulphur, Copper and Iron
company; H. N. Randolph, Atlanta,
and R. S. Parker, Atlanta, director
general of railroads; Edward A. Kim
ball, Atlanta, Georgia Manufacturers’
association; W. H. Burwell, Sparta,
members of reciprocal insurance in
Georgia; R. C. Woodward, Adel, La
nier county committee; W. A. Hig
gens, Atlanta, Southeastern Retail
Hardware Dealers’ Association; F. A.
Hooper, Atlanta, Wholesale Drug
gists’ Association; Joseph H. Hall,
Macon, city of Macon for capital re
moval and Seminole county; Candler,
Thomson & Hirsch, Georgia Bottlers’
Association, Coca-Cola Company,
Standard Insurance Company and
Central Bank and Trust Corporation;
Marion M. Jackson, Atlanta, Munici
pal League of Georgia; Lee M. Jor
dan, Atlanta, Georgia Manufactur
ers’ Association; John A. Sibley, At
lanta, Gilbert & Barker Manufactur
ing Company; James L. Mayson, At
lanta, representing E. L. Bowser in
matter of senate bill regulating oil
lamps; R. H. Jones, Jr., Atlanta, milk
dealers of Atlanta.
The report was accompanied by a
certificate from the secretary of state
that each of the foregoing had paid
the $25 lobbyist fee as required by
the act of 1918.
It is plainly evident that the law
is not being observed as hundred of
men have been about the capital do
ing lobbying. As it does not reach
the spot intended we should say the
law should be enforced or repealed.
Miss Willie Bagwell, of Atlanta, has
been the guest of Mrs. D. T. Baker,
and Miss Sewell Wallace, of Elber
ton, is her guest this week.

“The Universal Car
Ford cars are more useful to-day than ever before; a necessity in
village, town, city and county; the utility of farmer, merchant,
manufacturer, architect, engineer, contractor, salesman, doctor,
clergyman; a profitable factor in the life of the nation.
It’s no longer necessary to go into the details deseribing the prac
tical merits of the Ford car—ever ybody knows all about the “Uni
versal Car.” How it goes and comes day after day and year
after year, at an operating expense sosmall thatit’s wonderful.
We are experienced and know how to give service to the owners
of Ford Cars. We have the same methods, machinery and skill
they have in the Ford factory and use the same parts made by the
Ford Motor Company. Ford owners are doubly guaranteed by
us as to reliability of our service on Ford Cars.
Don’t try to do it yourself or take it to another garage for we are
authorized dealers and service men for Cobb county and you
cannot get the same service on your Ford car that we offer you.
