Miss Ethel Buford, of Paulding
county, has been visiting at the home

Mrs. Gussie Springfield’s many
friends are glad to see her able to be
out in town.
Miss Lois Hill is teaching a large
class in musie.
Mrs. E. G. Hill and Master Charles
Hill have returned after a most de
lightful visit in Atlanta.
Prof. E. T. Booth and his assistant
resumed school Monday. The school
had been” closed on account of dip
theria.
Mr. and Mrs. Mimsinger, of Atlanta,
spent Sunday with Mrs. Memsinger’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Currie.
Miss Margurite Butler, of Savan

Mr. Ty Crowder has bought a house
and lot from Mr. W. D. Parris near
the Baptist church.
Mr. Buck Gatlin,and Old John Gib
son are home from a visib;o Mr. Wil
liam Gatlin, in Atlanta. = Mr. Gatlin
and family will move here. Also, Mr.
and Mrs. Ty Crowder will move here.
After fourteen years I ‘dropped in
on Woodstock last'Friday and found
my farmer friends and neighbors, Mr.
William (Billie) McCleskey and his
gon, Harvey, doing a nice mercantile
business there. Woodstock is a pret
ty town and what impresses one most
35 the well-kept and neat-appearing
bomes, beautiful shade trees, etc.
A heavy hail fell here Sunday dur
ing the rain.
Messrs. Fred Pylant and Olin Ellis,
of Atlanta_are visiting home folks.
Miss Gladys McCollum entertained
her young friends Saturday night with

Mr. and Mrs. Edd Kemp, of Ac
worth, spent Saturday night with Mr.
and Mrs. John Orr. Mr. Kemp has
recently returned from France.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dewberry, of
Mars Hill, spent Saturday night with
Mr. C. T. Morgan and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Lucious Leathers, of
Vilaria, with their children, have been
visiting Mr. S. J. Pyron.
Mrs. Lewis Payne and children, of
Atlanta, have been visiting relatives
here.
Protracted meetings began at the
Baptist church Sunday by the pastor,
Rev. Mr. Smith.
We regret to learn that Mr. and
Mrs. Leander Flinn’s children have
diptheria.
Mr. Charlie Guess, Mr. E. G. Hill
and Miss Lois Hill went to Atlanta
Thursday.
Miss Butler, of Calhoun, spent a
week with her sister, Mrs. W. E.
McClure.
Mrs. Raines, of Tampa, Fla., who is
wisiting her sister, Mrs. Stephens, will
leave shortly for her home.

ganized at the church. We hope it
will be a success.
Mr. H. H. Kemp left Monday for
his work as demonstrator for Madison
county, after spending a few days
with his family here.
Mrs. H. H. Clay has returned home
after spending several days with her
daughters in Birmingham, Ala. '
Mr. John Clay and family, of At
lanta, spent part of last week with Mr.
H. H. Clay.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hardage, of
Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Griggs, of
Hiram, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Story, of
Due West, Mr. John Griggs and fam
ily, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. A.
A. Griggs Sunday.
Miss Helen Pittman spent last week
in Mableton with her aunt, Mrs.
Brown.
Miss Vistoria Griggs spent the
week-end in Marietta with her bro
ther C. J. Griggs, and visited friends
at Alpharetta Sunday.
Miss Clara Belle Kemp left Mon
day to resume her studies at Athens.

nice new Chevrolet car, for his dau
ghter, Miss Louise, who is learningl

great deal with a carbuncle on his
