LET THE LEAGUE DO IT
The high cost of living is not a na
tional problem ' only; it is a world
problem. Conditions which cause
high prices in the United States apply
throughout the world. Local reme
dies can be but temporary.
President Wilson’s address to Con
gress on August Bth translated the
ideas of the League of the League of
Nations into the actualities of every
day life. It is not.extravagant to say
that the League of Nations will low
er the cost of a loaf of bread, a slice
of beef, and a cup of coffee. The
first factor in the problem of redue
ing living costs is to get peace. The
next is to keep it. Peace means the
ratification of the Treaty and the es
tablishment of the League of Nations.

You Never Grow Tired
of a Hot Spot Chalmers
Things only half good
you soon tire of. But you
never tire of a great paint
ing like Whistler’s portrait
of his mother, nor a fine
animal like your friend: a
well bred dog.
A Chalmers car of to
day possesses the same fas
cination. It’s a ¢creature
of steel’”” that seems to have
a heart and a mind.
It’s so willing and so
quick to answer your every
request. It’s so gentle as
you run along at snail’s
pace, and yet so savage, so
eager the moment you
open the throttle.
