School is progressing nicely at this
place. We have an enrollment of
about 60 scholars.
Mr. Haden McCollum and his bride
‘have moved to Marietta.
Mrs. Coonie Davis and little daugh
ter, Mary Lavonia, visited Mrs. J. H.
Campbell and family one day last
week.
Mr. Geo. J. Kemp, who has been
_taking ‘the census, spent Saturday
night and Sunday with home folks.
Master Hermon Beavers visited
Mr. Davis one day last week.
Miss Alvira Adair is real sick with
pneumonia.
Mr. and Mrs. George Brock and
two children, Carline and Edward,
spent Sunday with Rev. F. M. Lacy
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. George Kemp spent
Sunday with her parents, of Ken
nesaw.
Sunday school was well attended
at this place Sunday. :

PINE MOUNTAIN ACADEMY
We have been having some very
cold weather in our part of the coun
try. Maybe it has froze Mr. 801 l
Weevil out. We hope so at least.
Miss Elvira Adair has been real
sick with pneumonia, but we are glad
to know that she is some better.
Mrs. Paul Austin is on the sick
list at this writing. We hope for her
a speedy recovery.
Master Tom Lacy had a very se
vere attack of croyp last Tuesday
night. He is to be carried to Atlanta
for an operation this week.
School at this place is progressing
very fine, under the management of
Mr. Nathan Hilerbrand and his sister
a 9 assistant.
Sunday School at this place was
well attended Sunday afternoon. Ev
erybody come next Sunday and bring
somebody with them. What greater
work can you do than work for your
Master.
Remember prayer meeting next
Sunday night at this place. A
Mr. Carl Leavell has moved on Mr.
Edd Hicks place. We welcome him
in our community.
Mr. George J. Kemp came in home

We are sorry to hear of Mrs. Tom
Flinn’s serious sickness. We hope she
can soon be restored to her usual
health.
Mr. George Kemp and wife visited
Mr. W. P. Giles and family Sunday,
who have been sick for two weeks,
but we are glad to know they are
better.
The singing given by Miss Lillian
McCollum Sunday night was enjoyed
by all present.

dents from all over Cobb county.
The weather is too rough to do any
thing but cut woed, and cook and eat;
and why not sit down and write the
news to the Journal. That is what
it takes to make a good enterprising
county paper, isn't it Mr. Editor.

of her sister, Mrs. M. S. Foster.

night and Sunday as the guest of
Miss Annie Durham, of Mars Hill.

’ Little Miss Geneva Drake enter
tained a number of her little friends
at the home of her grandparents, Mr.i
and Mrs. J. L. Reed, here on Tuesday
afterrioon, from three to five o’clock,
the occasion celebrating her eleventh
birthday. The birthday cake was iced
in yellow and on it were eleven white
and pink candles. Cake and hot
chocolate were served in the dining
room, which was beautifully decorat
ed in white and green. Several nice
presents were received. Little Gen
eva wore a very becoming little white
dress. Merry games were played by
the guests and each one returned
home wishing that little Geneva
might live to enjoy many more just
such birthdays as this one way. The
invited geusts were little Marguerite
and James Daniell, Lula Crowe, Ema
line Barber, Nellie Martin, Ruth and
Lucile Moore, Florine White, Chester
and Irene Reed.

Mr. anf Mrs. Leonard Chatam and

E. A. Moody, who has been sick for
several months, does not seem to im
prove very much, we are sorry to
