Mrs. P. T. Miles recently returned
home from Gilmore after attending
‘the wedding of her niece, Miss Lillian
Crowder to Mr. Delbert Manor.
Mrs. Nellie Johnson has been elect
ed assistant teacher here in the Liter
ary School and will have charge of
the third, fourth and fifth grades for
the remainder of this term. It will
be remember - that Miss Thackston
had charge of the these grades but ill
health prevented her from teaching.
We hope Mrs. Johnsno will accept
this place for the fall term but regret
wery much in having to give Miss
Thackston up. ‘
Mr. J. D. Hendricks left here on
Saturday for Atlanta where he will
make his future home. - |

The box supper here on Saturday
night was a great success in every
way. We thank the young ladies’
and matrons for the nice boxes they
brought, and certainly appreciate the
young men as well as the married
ones for being so liberal with their
pocketbooks. We also wish to thank
Mr. Lonnie Reed for the work he did
in auctioning off the boxes. The
amount béing collected was $42.00
which was highly appreciated by the
community.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rice, of Atlanta,
spent the wegk-end here with rela
tives,
Rev. Geo. V. Crowe delivered two
very able sermons here on Sunday
and at night. There will be no serv
ice here on next Third Sunday on
account of the annual singing which
will be held here on that date.
Mrs. W. B. Knox returned home
on Sunday afternoon from a two
week’s visit to relatives near Powder
Springs.
Mr. Shelton Cassidly and little
brother Carl, of Douglasville, spent
Sunday here with friends and rela
tives.
Mr. and Mrs. Lucius Leathers and
three children, of Villa Rica, while
returning home from a visit to rela
tives in Kennesaw paid their cousins

PINE MOUNTAIN ACADEMY
The farmers of this section took
advantage of a day or two last week
and plowed just enough to say they
had made a start toward another
crop.
Quite a number of the young folks
of thsi place attended the all, day
singing at Minifred and report a very
nice time and lots of good things to
eat, i

have returned home from a delight

and relatives.
Miss Roma Campbell spent Satur

Miss Mamie Campbell had as her
guests Sunday Miss Pearl Norton and
Miss Ora Chatum.
Sunday School at this place was
well attended Sunday afternoon.

Will Robinson, who has been sick, is
no better.
Miss Elvira Adair was called to her
sister’s Mrs. Chester Austin, near Ac
worth last week on account of sick
ness. We sure do miss her in our
Sunday school when absent.
Mr. and Mrs, John Justice spent
last Sunday with Mr. Will Robinson
and family.
Mr. George Cantrell was up from
Atlanta Sunday much to the delight
and pleasure of some of our young
ladies’. I think George will have to
get somebody to fix straws and let
him draw on those two girls, it seems
that he can't decide which one he
wants to win.
Rev. F. M. Lacy filled his regular
appointment at Concord Church Sat
urday and Sunday.
The singing given by Mr. Robert
Pylant last Saturday night was high
ly enjoyed by a large crowd. ~

lin will regret to learn she is critically
ill at ker home. .
Mrs. Cliff Warren’s friends are de

a long illness at the Marietta Sani
tarium.

Mrs. White and Mrs. Cunningham
closed their school here Wednesday,
April 14th, with an entertainment.
The church was decorated with vines
and cedar. Mr. Awtrey called out
the program and every thing was car
ried out nicely and the attendance
was good.
Let everybody remember that we
are to meet here next Sunday morn
ing for the purpose of organizing
a Sunday School. Everybody come
promptly at 9:30 a. m.
