EPWORTH LEAGUE NOTES.

The subject for discussion last Sun
‘day evening, was one of much impor
‘tance to every individual in the Unit
ed States, as well as one that some of
the opposition to the present demo
cratic administration should study on
and not only study, bu% practice.
This subject, “Peacemakers,” was
viewed from sevyeral angles by Mrs.
E. D. Underwood, as program leader,
and assisted by Mr. John Heck, Miss
Daisy White and Miss Lillian Boat
ner, all of whom gave good pointers
of how to practice the role of a
“Peacemaker.” - 1
Several examples were cited of
those who act or try to act the part
of a “Peacemaker,” usually, make a
multitude of people angry, which
goes to prove that a ‘“Peacemaker’s”
life is not one of a bed of roses. For
instance, that grand old man, Presi
dent Woodrow Wilson, has given his
life to the cause of "‘Peacemaking.”l
He has absolutely made himself an|
enemy by thying to bring the nations
of the world together on a friendly
basis, and not only has his health
been impaired, but he has a host of
political enemies, who would stop at
nothing to throw this great Peace
maker into the gutter. At any rate
‘Mr. Wilson will go down in history
as among the greatest of Peace
makers.
The League is hoping that the
Methodist Conference, which meets
November 10th, will et us have our
friend and pastor, Dr. W. T. Hamby,
for another year. Every member;
wants Mr. and Mrs. Hamby back and
have high hopes to this end. They
both are certainly of the type that
cannot be measuréd by the common
rule that determines the ordinary
man op woman’s worth in this world,
for all agree that they are above the
average, and this what the League
needs, somebody to look to for in
formation and advice. When they

are asked for either, they readily
