In the Marietta Social Realm
Brilliant Reception at Mrs.
Montgomery's
Mrs. George Montgomery, Mrs. J.
D. Anderson and Miss Emmie Mont
gomery were hostesses at a reception
on Thursday afternoon, which was
noteworthy for beauty and elegance.
The delightful affair was in the na
ture of a house-warming, as it was
the first large social event that has
been held in the handsome Montgom
ery home since its completion, in the
spring. The house is a model of
comfort and convenience, and was
lavishly adorned with flowers for this
occasion, on the living room and den,
a color scheme of vellow was used,
tall baskets of golden glow and bowls
of marigolds and zinnias being the
flowers. In the sitting room were
tall vases of pink roses and lavender
butterfly plant.
In the dining room all was white
and green. Centering the lace-cover
ed table was a large silver basket of
white asters, showered with' white
satin ribons, and sprays of maiden
hair ferns. About this was a broad
wreath of white asters and asparagus
fern. At each corner were silver
candlesticks, holding unshaded white
tapers, and silver bonbon dishes
holding green and white mints. On
the side-board were silver bowls of
white dahlias; and crystal vases of
tube-roses adorned the consol table.

rooms was enhanced by the soft glow
of the many shaded lights. The de
lightful salad course served in here

'and green in detail. Those serving

‘hen, Harriette Leake, Idabel Hunt,

the many callers. Numbers of hand
some ferns and other potted plants,
hanging baskets filled with vines and
blossoms, wall vases of cut flowers,
and gilded cages of singing ¢canaries
made it an enticing spot.
Punch was served on the front ter
race, the punch-bowl on a table bank
ed in French marigolds, and flanked
by tall wicker baskets of golden glow.
Mrs. Montgomery received her
guests in a becoming toilet of white
taffeta and lace, with a corsage of
white and pink rose buds. Mrs. An

tume of white silk, with which she

bink mesaline, with these the hos
tesses, stood Miss Elizabeth Bynum,
