Joh '

Deputy
The eastern part of Cobb County has never had a
Clerk of Cobb Superior Court and until the Board of
County Commissioners was organized a few years ago,
this section of our County never had a Representative
in the Official Government of the County.
In Harvey P. Carpenter this section of Cobb Coun
ty presents a man fully qualified by experience and nat
ural ability to discharge the duties of Clerk of Cobb
Superior Court. In the interest of fair play voters of
our County don’t you think that the great section of
Cobb County east of Marietta should have an opportu
nity to fill one of the offices with one of their citizens?
The present incumbent, Mr. Collins, has held this
office as Deputy and as Clerk for a period covering
practically 10 years. He has had his opportunity.
It has been charged in advertisements in the Coun
ty papers that the candidacy of Mr. Carpenter is an at
tempt on the part of some one to play politics and the
opposition to Mr. Carpenter seemingly adopts the atti
tude that by some KINGLY right that Mr. Collins is the
natural heir to this office for another 4 years.
No one man has any right to say who shall hold of
fice and administer the affairs of the people. Under
our Democratic form of Government any Citizen of our
County has a right to aspire to this office regardless of
the aloof attitude that Mr. Collins has assumed in his
advertisement.
In the event of Mr. Carpenter’s election John Heck
of Marietta, will be associated with him as Deputy.
We commend these (Gentlemen to you as fully qual
ified to fill this responsible office and assure each and
every voter of the County that your vote and support
will be greatly appreciated.
