Mrs. Gilbert Swafford spent part
of last week in East Point with her
sisters.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hill and
fittle daughter, Ruth, spent Satur
day night and Sunday with Mr. and
Mre. 1. E. Hill
Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan visit
ed their daughter, Mrs. Edgar Webb,
of Tucker, Ga., recently.
Miss Pearl McPherson, of Mariet
ta, was the guest of Misses Lena and
Odene Hill Sunday evening.
Mre. Selia Barfield was very ill
iast week, but is now improved.
The Valentine party given by Mr.
and Mrs. A. J. Bottomg was much
enjoyed by all present.
Miss Esther Varner spent the
week-end with homefolks.
Miss Odene Hill, who is teaching
gchool at New Hope, spent several
days with her parents.
Miss Rossie Daniel spent Sunday
with Miss Nettie Qualls.
Mr. Charley Barfield, of Fulton
county, has moved his family to his
place here. :

We have been having some spring
weather and have planted our gar
dens, and the farmers have started
their spring plowing.
Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Benson spent

visiting his sister, Mrs. Grace John
ston.
Little Blanche Tinsley is on the
sick list, we are sorry to say.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moore spent
Friday in Marietta. ;
Mr. Ed Legg and family, of Mt.
Zion, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Johnsain

Brother Singleton filled his ap
pointment here Sunday at 11 o’clock,
and preached to a large crowd. He
will be back on the Ist Sunday in
each month. Bro. Fred Sorrels will
preach here on the 3rd Sunday in
each month; so we will have two
good sermons every month. Let ev
erybody come out and hear these
two good men preach. They always
have something good for us to hear.
The little daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. T. W. Rogers, Myrtle, has been
very ill last week, but is much bet
ter we are glad to say.
Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Norton’s little
son, Elis, is very sick, but we hope
he will be out again soon.
Quite a bit of illness in this com
munity with children and older folks.
Mr. Wayman Sorrels, of Atlanta,
visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.
N. Sorrels Saturday night and Sun
day.
Mr. T. W. Rogers’ team ran away
with him Thursday and came very
inear getting seriously hurt,
~ Our Sunday school is still ‘on the
‘boom. Everybody are cordially in
ivitod to attend and take a part in
‘this good work. Meets every Sun
day at 10 o’clock.

Deputy, Mr. Ed Legg, who was born
in this county, and has lived here all
of his life; and in order to properly
look after the business of the office,
will also have John H. Terry, who
will be bookkeeper and jailor.
Having been an employee of the
county for several years as Warden
and Superintendent of Roads, I feel
that I am in a position to thorough
ly patrol the county by reason of the
fact that I am familiar with every
road in it, and also feel that my ex
perience in handling violators of the
law further qualifies me for this re
spongible position.
. I now promise the tax payers of the
county that if I am elected, I will
not ask the County Commissioners to
tax the people in order to furnish a
special bailiff to help me with the
duties of this office, but will put on
sufficient men to properly attend to
the business of the office, and pay
them out of the fees of the office.
