. Alpharetta, Ga., June 10, 1924,
To the People of the Blue Ridge Cir
cuit:
I am a candidate for the Judgship
of your circuit for the next term, sub
ject to the wish of the people of the
circuit to be expressed by their votes
at the demoeratic primary in Septem
ber. If elected I pledge my best ef
.forts to make you a courteous, faith
ful and efficient officer. I will ap
preciate your vote and influence.
| Respectfully yours,
| J. P. Brooke.
To The Voters of Blue Ridge Circuit:
I am a candidate for re-election
to the office of Solicitor-General »f
the Blue Ridge Circuit subject to the
action of the Democratic Primary
to be held on the 10th day of Sep
tember, 1924,
When I first sought to be elevated
to this olice four years ago, when you
so generously responded, I pledged
you an efficient, impartial and fear
less administration of the law without
regard to factions, station or polit
ical preferment. My record as your
servant in this office is open to you
and speaks for itself whether or not
I have measured up to this pledge
and to the standard required of this
office.
Upon this record I am asking your
support.
If I have measured up to the stan
dards of efficiency and honesty de
manded by law abiding citizens of
their public officers, I feel that under
the time honored principle of democ
racy I am entitled to the endorsement
of the voters of ths circuit for a sec
ond term. On the other hand I rec
ognize that if I have not measured 1p
to the qualifications demanded of
this office, I should -not expect an
endorsement at your hands. You
must be the judge of this.
Assuring you of my lasting grat
itude of your generous support and
confidence four years ago and renew
ing to you again the pledge. which
I made you then, that I will, if re
elcted, continue to give you the best
service that is in me, I ask your un
divided support and influence.
Respectfully,
Jno. S. Wood.
TO THE PEOPLE OF COBB
COUNTY:
I am a candidate for re-election
to the judgship of our circuit. Un
der democratic usage, I feel that I
am entitled to re-election without op
position.
I have endeavored to administer
the laws fairly and impartially, in a
business-like manner, and with a
minimum of cost. I have endeavored
to treat all our people fairly in mak
ing appointments, by giving the dif
ferent political parties representa
tion, and above all by appointing men
who enjoy the confidence of their fel
lowmen for uprightness and fairness.
I have devoted my time to the dis
charge of the duties of my office,
and have had no other business or
calling to interfere with this work.
I have had no favorites to serve
nor enemies to punish, and this is an
important factor in the administra
tion of law and justice. I have not
played politics, built political ma
chines, nor fomented factional strife.
Partisan politics in the judiciary is
utterly incompatible with a just ad
ministration of the laws. Grand ju
ries in our county, and other coun
ties of the circuit, have commented
with approval, upon the fact that our
courts are free from politics. All
right thinking people know the great
importance of this fact in the admin
istration of justice.
Since I have been your judge, I
have endeavored to reduce crime by
inspiring a more wholesome respect
for law among our peopie. It is well
to punish crime but it is infinitely
better to prevent it. It is right to
enforce the laws but it is far better
to have them obeyed. This can be
accomplished only when there is a vi
talizing sentiment among our people
for the upholding of our laws and a
readiness on their part to discharge
the duties of good citizens. I have
labored for improvement along these
lines and it is gratifying to know
that measurable success has been and
is being realized. Our conditions are
improving, crime in general is on the
decrease, and there is an awakening
of the public sentiment throughout
the circuit that makes erime unpop
ular and more difficult.
These are the things that I have
stood for and will continue to stand
for. Good people over the circuit
have shown their appreciation by ex
pressing to me their full satisfaction
with my administration and by pledg
ing their support for my re-election.
And to you Cobb county people,
among whom I have lived and labored
for more than forty years, and who
know me best, I come asking for
vour approval, endorsement and ac
tive support, assuring you that if
given, it will be most gratefully ap
preciated. I am, |
Very sincerely, |
D. W. Elair. |
To the People of the Blue Ridge
‘Circuit: : |
I am a candidate for Solicitor Gen
eral of the Blue Ridge circuit, sub
ject to the Democratic primary tog be
held in September, and if elected I
promise the people to enforce the law
and to discharge the duties of the
Solicitor General’s office in a just,
fair and impartial manner.
I enter this race with ‘he knowl
edge and understanding that the of
fice is operated on a salary and not
under the fee system, and if elected
will net try to have t¥e Legislature
change it.
Hon. Jarrett P. Fowler, of Cum
ming, will be associated with me as
assistant, and he joins me in solicit
ing the support and votes of all, both
men and women. Respectfully,
B. L. Smith.
To the People of the Blue Ridge
Circuit:
I am a candidate for the office of
Judge of the Superior Court, subject
to the Democtatic primary to fill the
vacancy on the first day ‘of January,
1925, caused by the expiration of the
term of office of the present incum
bent.
If elected I promise to enforce the
laws, to try the cases when they are
ripe for trial, and to do this with as
little expense as is possible to the tax
payers of the circuit.
I wil] appreciate the support of
the people of the circuit both men
and women. Respectfully,
: Geo. F. Gober.

Next Dose of Treacherous Drug
May Start Misery
For You :
Calomel is dangerous. It may sal
ivate you and make you suffer fear
fully from soreness of gums, tender
ness of teeth, and jaws, swollen
tongue, and excessive saliva dribbling
from the mouth. Don't trust ecal
omel. It is mercury; quicksilver.
If you feel bilious, headachy, con
stipated and all knocked out, just go
to your druggist and get a bgttle of
Dodson’s Liver Tone for a few cents
which is a harmless vegetable substi
tute for dangerous calomel. Take
a spoonful and if it don’t straighten
you up better and quicker than nasty
calomel and without making you
sick, you just g 0 back and get your
money. :
If you take calomel today, you’ll
be sick and nauseated tomorrow; be
sides, it may salivate you, while if
you take Dodson’s Liver Tone you
will wake up feeling great. No salts
necessary. Give it to children be
cause it is perfectly harmless and
can not salivate,
