The Ford offer for Muscle Shoals
was made to Congress more than two
years ago and nothing has been done
about it. If it takes Congress this
long to settle a matter like this, they
are not competent to legislate for the
people. The offer could have been
disposed of in some way. A bunch
of Cobb county school boys could
have done better. I think we had
better clean out Washington and
hunt up some statesmen. We need
to fill our legislative halls with men
of common sense—horse sense if you
please, There has been too much
oratory, gas, hot air, Teapot oil, and
everything else, but business. It is
time our people are waking up and
quit playing politics and select mén
of brains.
