Large Crowd Entertained
At Golf Club Saturday
The regular Saturday teas at the
Gelf Club are proving to be among
the most delightful events of the sum
mer season. Each week many bright
parties are entertained while others
drift in from the golf course and the
swimming pool for tea.
On last Saturday afternoon about
one hundred guests were entertained.
Mrs. George Keeler, ag chairman,
was assisted by Mrs. H. E. Hague,
Mrs. W. B. Tate, Misses Creswell
Morrisette, Frances Weish, Elizabeth
Keeler and Carolyn Anderson.
Larkspur in its various lovely
shades and Queen Anne’s lace formed
the pretty and effective decorations.
Mrs. Amorous Honoree
Mrs. Martin Amorous was the cen
tral figure at a bridge party given in
her honor by Mrs. S. H. Sibley. The
score cards were hand drawn designs
in black and white done by Miss Wel
don Sibley and were little ships sug
gestive of the voyage which Mrs.
Amorous will soon take en route to
Europe for the summer. Mrs. V. L.
Starr won first prize, a pretty potted
plant and the honoree was presented
with a “sea chest” filled with ready
remedies for sea sickness. Miss Lora
Rogers, of the Baldwin Players of
the Atlanta Theater, was presented
with a lovely corsage of lavender and
white sweet peas. Mrs. Sibley’s
guests included Mrs. Amorous, Mrs.
George Keeler, Mrs. W. B. Tate, Mrs.
H. E. Hague, Mrs. Georgia Kay Sul
livan, Mrs. A. D. Grant, Mrs. John
M. Graham, Mrs. Fannie Trezevant,
Mrs. Len C. Baldwin, Miss Lora Rog

Miss Weldon Sibley Hostess
A bright party entertained at
bridge by Miss Weldon Sibley inclu
ded Miss Margaret McNeel and her
guest, Miss Eleanor O’Brien, of Tex
as, Misses Frances Welsh, Nancy

at Lovely Affair on Friday
A lovely affair of last week was
the large bridge party given on Fri
day afternoon by Mrs. H. N. DuPre
and Mrs. Hugh Blair at their home
on Cherokee Street in compliment to
Miss Augusta Cohen a charming June
bride.
The attractive home was pretily
decorated with quantities of sweet
peaf, the pmrtistic arrangement pf
which reflected the exquisite taste of
the hostesses.
Mrs. Welborn Venable won first
prize, a bottle of black narcissus per
fume; Miss Pearl Roberts cut conso
lation, a deck of cards and Miss Miss
Louie Dean Stephens received cards
for consolation. Miss Cohen was pre
sented with an attractive and useful
silver vanity comb in a silver case

Woman’s Club Meeting
Of Unusual Interest
The final meeting of the Woman’s
Club for the summer will be held on
next Tuesday afternoon, June 24, at
promptly 3 o’clock, at the Y. W. C.
A. rooms. The program is of unu
sual importance and interest and it
is very much desired that all club
members be present.
A meeting of the executive board
will be held at 2:30 o’clock and the
general meeting will assemble at 3
o’clock. An interesting feature will
be the address by Mrs. Charles Good
man, of Atlanta, on Child Welfare,

a cablegram on Monday from their
;daughter, Miss Emma Mae Rambo,
announcng her safe arrival in Rio de
Janerio, Brazil, where she will spend
