HARMON FOR PRESIDENT.
Ex-Governor Glenn, of North Caro
lina, who lectured in Marietta last
week, has been interviewed in Rich
mond, Va., where he spoke Sunday in
bebalf of the home mission work of the
Southern Presbyterian church and of
the laymen’s missionary movement.
In the interview, he said with regard
to the political situation:
“Judson Harmon, ‘governor of Ohio,
will be the next Presidential nominee
of the Democratic party, in my judg
ment Everywhere I have been in my
tour of the country, I have found Har
mon as the leading candidate in pubiic
and party opinicn.
“I am of the opinion that the South
should demand that the next vice
presidential candidate of the Demo
eratic party be a Southern man. We
do the voting, and we ought to be rep
resented on the ticket.
‘““The war i 8 over, and the people of
the North, I belive, will support a
Southern man as readily as any other.”
Harmon is a strong man, and Ohio is
an important State.
As for the vice-presidency, we do not
think the party could have done worse
than it has done in the last dozen years.
Sewell, of Maine, ‘‘Grandpa’’ Davis, of
West Virginia, and Kern added noth
ing to the ticket. A Southern man of
the right type would not gain any slec
toral votes, but the nomination of such
& man might create in the South a re
newed devotion to the party.
From the standpoint of practical
politice [New York must be considered,
and jthat State will have to be won. if
at all, despite Tammany Hall. Itisa
mournful fact that Tammany Hall will
sell out the State and National ticket
every time to gain the city election,
yet New York is regarded as necessary
Democratic success. We believe the
people of New York are more in sym
pathy with the people of the South
than are the people of the West, and
‘better _underatnnd our problems, but
‘Tammany is the bulk of the Demo
cratic party in New York, and Tam
many is always for graft, and knifes
the National ticket when it suits the
Tammany purpose.
Just how this situation is to be met,
is the problem. It has not been met
since the days of Cleveland. If we
could find another New York man as
strong as Cleveland and could name
him, with Harmon as the vice-presi
dential candidate, we could win.

Delegates Appointed.
Governor Brown has appointed dele
gates to the annual meeting of the
national rivers and harbors’ congress
which is to be held at Washington, D.
C., December 8-10:
Those from the seventh district are
J. F. King, of Rome; W. C. Bunn, of
Cedartown, F, T, Hardwick, of Dal
ton; J* W. L. Brown, of Cartersville;
M. M. Sessions, of Marietta.
A rprained ankle will usually disable
the injured person for three or four
weeks. This is due to lack of fproper
treatment. When Chamberlain’s Lini
ment is applied a cure may be effected
in three or four days. This Liniment
is one of the best and most remarkable
preparations used. Sold by Gantt

THE MARIETTA JOURNAL AND COURIER
ONE MILLION DOLLARS
- FOR A GOOD STOMACH.
This Offer Should Be a Warning
to Every Man and Woman.
The newspapers and medical journals
have had much Tto say relative to
a famous millionaire’s offerjof a million
dcllars for a new stomach.
~ This great multi-millionaire was too
‘busy to worry about the condition of
his stomach. He aliowed his dyspepsia
to run from bad to woree until in the
end it became incurable. His misfor
tune should serve as a warning to oth
ers. Every one who suffers with dys
pepsiu for a few years, will give every
thing he owns for a new stomach.
Dyspepsia is caused by an abnor
mal state of the gastrie juices. There is
one element missing—Pepsin. The ab
sence of this destroys the funection of
the gastric fluids. They lose their
power to digest food.
We are now able to supply the pepsin
in a form almost identical to that natu
rally created by the system when in
normal health, go that it restores to the
gastric juices their digestive power,
and thus makes the stomach strong and
well
We want every one troubled with in
digestion and dyspepsia to come to our
gtore and obtain a box ot Rexall Dys
pepsia Tablets. They contain Bismuth-
Subnitrate and Pepsin, prepared by a
process which develops their greatest
power to overcome digestive disturb
ance.
Rexall Dyspepsia Tablets are very
pleasant to take. They soothe the ir
ritable, weak stomach, strengthen and
invigorate the digestive orgng, relieve
nausea and indigestion, promote natri
tion and bring about a feeling of com
fort. :
If you give Rexall Dyspepsia Tablets
a reasonable trial, we will return your
money if you are not satisfied with the
result. Three sizes, 25 cents, 50 cents
and $1 00 Remember, you can obtain
Rexall Remedies in Marietta only at
