Delegates Chosen to Attend
the Diocesan Conven
{tion in Atlanta.

The annual election of the Board of
Wardens and Vestrymen of St, James
Parish was held on Monday. 29th, im
mediately after a celebration of the
Holy Communion on} the morning ot
that day. The election resulted as fol
lows:

On the evening of the same day tle
organization of the new vestry was af
feoted and among the business trans
aziad was the election of delegates and
alternate delegates to the Diocesan
Convention to be held in Bt. Luke’s
Churceh, Atiants, the 7th and 10th of
Desember. The delegates are: Mr.
R. Del. Lawreace, Mr. B. (. Brumby,
Mr. A. A Irwin. Alternates: Mr,
Mongin Brumby, Mr. E. B. Freyer, Mr.
W. E. Schilling,
The officers of the vestry are: Clerk,
Mr. E B. Freyer; Treasurer, Mr. B, G, |
Brumby.

Mr. Lawrence was requested to re
sume hisduties saa treasurer of the Par
toh, but felt that it was better that he
decline the office. A committee wug

At the sonuad meeting of the Board
‘ of Wardens and Vestrymen of the Par
| ish immediately preceding the election
of the new Vestry, a review of the past
year's work was heard and it was found
that the Parish was in a most excellent
condition materially and it was felt
that there was a degree of unanimity
and congeniality which augurs most
auspicially for the work of the ensuing
year.
WEEK OF PRAYER
The service of the week of prayer at
St. James began most auspiciously with
a large congregation Monday night and
the congregations have been inereasing
since. It is hoped that the public gen
erally will enter into the spirit of the
meetings. The final services of the
week will be held Friday night and
Saturday night at 7:15 o’clock and Sun
day morning at eleven ¢o’cleck’and Sun
day evening at geven.
Rev. C. B, Wilmer, D. D, preached
Wednesday night on the subject of
prayer in Christ’s name. It was a
splendid sermor.. Miss Lillian Bennett

DIOOKSAN CONVENTION.
The second annual council of the
Diocese of Atlanta is to be held in St.
Luke’s church from the 7th to the 10th
Large delegations are expected to at
tend from the various guilds' mens so
cieties of St James parish. The open
ing services proper will be held at 11
o'clock in St. Luke’s church, at which
time the sermon will be nreached by
Rev. C. B. Wilmer. Immediately after
the services the Bishop will take the
chair and the convention will open
formally.
As a preliminary, there will be a pub
lic lecture in the erypt of St. Luke’s
church, on the subject of education, by
Dr. Wm. Norman Guthrie, of Suwanee,
Tenn. A cordial invitation is extended
to the geaeral public to this lecture, as
well as to the services of the conven-i
tion, |
