Dr. P. B. Crumbley was thrown from
his buggy one night about a week ago
by a collision with another vehicle on
Church street, One of his elbows was
broken by the fall. He was taken to
Dr. Nolan's Sanitarium and his in
juries attended to. He is now able to
be out and s recovering from the
painful accident.

Bridge Club in West End Tuesday, and
a party at Mrs. Dent's in the same

| Mr. Evelyn Holtzclaw, of the Tech
jnologicul School in Atlanta, and Mr.
'B. W. Holtzelaw, of Newnan, spent
the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. L. B.

Little Gem Theater parties are very
popular these pleasant afternoons and
evenings. It is quite a novel and
pleasant experience to see the moving
pictures, and then discuss them over
saucers of ice cream and wafers in
one of the drug stores.
Miss Kirk Entertains.
Miss Pearl Kirk entertained on
Saturday evening from 8 to 10:30 in
honor of her guest, Miss Rose Mec-
Mullen, of Marietta.

rendered some beautiful music, both
vocal and instrumental. Miss Pear)
Kirk, who was charming in white was
assisted by Miss Addye McElreath in
entertaining her guest. Miss Me-

County Commissioners Meet.
The County Commissioners at their
meeting Tuesday audited bills to the
amount of $3,735.58. Mr. Hardage
and Judge McCleskey were appointed
a committee to confer with the Water
Board in regard to putting « ity water

meeting of the Board will be held on

. Death of Emmeline Strickland.

| After three months suffering with
% dropsy, Emmeline Strickland, an aged
lmlured woman, died Tuesday at her
3bume on Cherokee street. She had
| been a servant in the Stephens family
| twenty-five years and had cooked for
!I\lr. and Mrs, W. P, Stephens twelve
!years. She was perfectly honest,
ifaith!ul to the duties of her station
iand devoted to the children of the
i family she served. During her illness
'Mr. and Mrs. Stephens cared for her
and sent her fruit and delicate food.
| They also bore the expenses of her
funeral and grieve over the loss of a
l true though humble friend. The
services were by Rev. Barnes of the
colored Baptist Church.
