MRS. CLAY'S DANCE
Mrs, Herbert Clay is synonymous
with social success. Everybody ad
mires her and those who know her
best are most devoted to her. So
it was to be expected she would send
her knight of the blue rompers over
to his grandmother’'s to slumber
peacefully while his own pretty
home was turned inside out to make
room for the merry makers on Thurs
day evening. The immense lawn
was changed into an al fresco parlor
with rugs, rockers, chairs and tab
les and was strung around with
Japanese lanterns. The moon shone
beautifully and cool breezes fanned
the flowers. So with moonlight,
music, vouth and flowers how could
one sit longer than it takes to sip
a mug of punch or munch a leaf of
salad while chasing the glowing
hours with flying fleet? Everybody
invited was there and the lawn was
needed to accommodate the guests.
Refreshments were served there,
also, Mrs. Clay being assisted by
Mrs. Fred Morris, Mrs. L. N. Tram
mell, Mrs. Harry DuPre and Mrs.
W. R. Joyner, Jr. The guests of
honor were Miss Irma Johnson and
Miss Evelyn Clay. Miss Clay wore
white charmeuse satin with crystal
garniture and Miss Johnson wore
black charmeuse satin trimmed with
jet spangles.
