NARIETTA SHOULD CELEBRATE
GEORGIA DAY WITH A DINNER
From scores of cities throughout
the State reports are coming into
the headquarters of the Georgia
Chamber of Commerce that the cele
pration of Georgia Products Day,
Tuesday, November 18, 1913, will be
an advance which will cause the
State to receive new and great ad
sertisement of its wonderful re
sources. It is expected that one of
the most successful and interesting
celebrations of the day will he held
in Marietta, and for the purpose of
getting ‘this result many of the busi
ness and professional men of Mari
etta and' Cobb county are now at
work in an unofficial way, deciding
upon a fit program.
Georgia Products Day has hecome
known in every section of the State,
and in almost every progressive town
definite action has been taken re
garding its celebration. Endorsed by
the Governor with a proclamation
requesting its observance, the day
has received commendation and sup
port of organizations of all kinds. A
thorough canvass of the State has re
sulted in its endorsement by the best
business interests of Georgia. Among
those men who have pledged their
co-operation towards making the day
a success are practically every
Mayor in the State; and hundreds of
proclamations requesting the observ
ance of the day have been issued by
these city executives. The hankers of
the State, realizing that the suc
cessful celebration of Georgia
Products Day means a true portrayal
of the present excellent condition of
the State, have given their support.
The professional men are interested
and the railroads are aiding the
movement in every way possible.
Throughout the State nearly forty
organized _commercial bodies are
working strenuously for the success
of the day, and in many cases the
secretary of the local commercial or

ganizations have voluntarily gone
into surrounding counties to stir up
interest in Georgia Products Day.
County viece-presidents of the
Georgia Chamber of Commerce have
been most active in their various sec
tions. The endorsement of the State
Federation of Women’s Clubs. at its
recent convention at Cuthbert, has
aroused enthusiasm of the ladies in
Georgia over the work for the suc
cess of this great celebration.
The general program of Georgia
Products Day includes a dinner at
which only Georgia raised or Georgia
made products will be served. There
will be speakers, both local and
visiting, at each banquet to tell
about the resources of Georgia and
explain the great benefit the
Georgia Chamber of Commerce will
bring to the State.
It is urged that banqueters on
Georgia Products Day make use of
every Georgia manufactured article,
including shoes, clothing and house
hold effects, thus demonstrating to
the entire country that, aside from
being one of the greatest agricul
tural States in the Union, Georgia
is well along among manufacturing
commonwealths.
As headquarters for a large num
ber of varied industries, Marietta
and her citizens can make as fine
a display of manufactured articles as
any town of similar size in the State.
