A WARNING FROM
BOARD OF HEALTH
Any community can rid itself of
small pox in thirty days by doing
three simple things. viz: First, iso
late properly every case; second,
fumigate thoroughly all infected
premises; Third, vaccinate success
fully every individual in the commu
nity.
We have been endeavoring to do
the first two the best we could, un
der many existing difficulties, how
ever. We have required all chil
dren attending public school to hHe
vaccinated, but we have not attempt
ed compulsory vaccination of all
our citizens.
But the lack of universal vaccin
ation is the cause, and the only
cause, for the continued precence of
the disease here,
We earnestly request everybody
that has not a good scar, to be vac
cinated at once.
The Atlanta Board of Health just
a few days ago published a state
ment that of the 900 cases recently
treated there, only 10 had been vac
cinated, showing that a person has
ninety nine chances out of a hun
dred of escaping it if he is vaccina
ted.
It would seem that such facts
should be sufficient for any reasona
ble person.
BOARD OF HEALTH.
