a bouquet of bride’s roses. They are

living near town, gave a dinnef on

W. F. Westbhrool® camp. There was
a number of visitcrs and the day
wao enjoyed by all present. A big
dinner was spread for all. l
Many will regret to hear of the
death of Mr. George Griffith on lastl
Saturday morning. Mr. Griffith was
as well as usual and haq started to
Mableton with a load of cotton. Be
eoming suddenly sick on the way, he]
stopped at a neighbor’s houze, wherel
ke expired in a short time. He was |
well known in Cobb county. ‘

will hold their window sale at Wolf’s
store from Dec. 13th to 25th. Fancy
articles, cakes and candies will be
offered for sale. The proceeds to go
for the parscnage
The old parsonage has been tora
down and work on the new one will
begin at once. :
The young ladies of the “Daugh
ters of Wesley” class entertained
the “Comrades’ class of young men
on the evening of Thanksgivng from
eight to eleven in the upstairs of the
Lewis building. The rooms were
beautifully decorated with autumn
leaves and small bay trees. Near
the entrance was placed the puncn\
bowl, surrounded by varigated foli-‘
age, and punch was served through-i
out the evening by Mrs. Wallace!
Florence and Mrs. Charles Lindley.
The first game played was progres
sive alphabet, there being seven ta~'
bles. After that the guests were
passed a basket of turnips and pota
toes to choose from, they represent
ing the different sides for a spelling
bee, in which the words given out
when spelled backwards producedi
other words which caused much mer- |
riment. i
After the games a delicicus sala.l.il
course was served. They were cha
peroned by Mrs. Florence, Dr. and{
Mrs. F.P. Lindley, Mr. Emmett Wolt |
and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lina-i
ley.

Death visited the home of Mr,
T. B. Lawrence Nov. 22nd, taking
their little daughter, Bobbie Lon,
age 3 years. She was laid to rest
at Shiloh and the grave was covered
with beautiful flowers. We sympn
thize with the bereaved family. :

mule last Friday and his leg wuas
broken.

OLIVE SPRINGS.
On Wednesday morning Mr. Will
Moore passed to the beautiful be
’yond. He had been in declining
‘health for the past year. He was a
member of Milford Baptist Church
and also of the Due West odd Fei
lows Lodge. He was a kind neigh
bor and good man. He leaves a wife
and one son, Mr. Will Moore, Jr.,
and a large number of friends té
mourn his death. The funeral was
conducted Thursday morning by
Rev. 8. E. Cassidy at Malony Springs
where his body was laid to rest by
the Dueé West Odd Fellow Lodge. A
large concourse of friends followed
him to his last resting place where
the grave was covered with flowers.
We deeply sympathize with the sor
rowing ones in the home where he is
s 0 sadly missed.
Miss Eddie Booth delightfully en
tentained her Sewing Club at the
home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. A. Booth, on Wednesday after
noen. Delicious refreshmentes were
ssrved.
Mrs. Annie Jones, of Powder
Springs, spent the past week with
her sister here, Mrs. James Calla
han.
Mr. A. A. Daniell is having three
nice new rooms added to his resi
dence.
Mr. anu mrs. Paul Turner are
very happy over the arrvival of a
fine boy at their home on Wednesday
Nov. 24th.
Little George McCoy has been very
sick the past week.

We regret giving up Mr. Inzer and
family from our community but hope
for them much success in their new
home.

the week-end here with relatives.
Mr. E. H. Osborn and family will
leave in a short time for Tift coun
ty. Olive Springs regrets very much
to give up this family, but hope for
them much success and happiness in
their new home.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Moor., of At
lanta, came up Sunday afternoon.
The many friends here of Mr. Moore
will be glad to know he wil]l move
his family to the place he recently
purchagzed from Mr. G. L. Shaw.

at her home on Church street. The
parlers were decorated in pot plants
and cut flowers, in the club colors,
green and gold. Those present were

Dunlap and Pauline Brinkley and
Messrs. Amon Cain, Howard Durha a,
Edgar Brinkley, George Daniell and
Ralph Ireland.

He comes highly recommended and
we feel sure he is a fine preacher.

make a good teacher. '

The Thanksgiving service was
well aitended and pighly enjoyed by
all present. Rev. J. J. Owens, of
Dallas, was here and preached a ser
mon which was very appropriate to
the occasion.

ver Side, building a tenant house.
Mr. Hudson Williams, of Paulding
county, spent Saturday and Sunday
with his parents here.

Mr. Warren Rackley, who was
making some repairs on a house
he was to move in soon, fell from a
ladder last Tuesday and for a time
it did not look like he would revive,
on account of the breath being
knocked out of him, but one of the
men blew into his mouth and he
caught his breath. Dr. J. C. Osborn
was hastily summoned and after
medical aid was given Mr. Rackley
was able to be carried home that af
ternoon and will recover.
Mr. Jodie Brown, while on his
way to Marietta Friday on Mr. W.
T. Keeley's wagon, one of the mulesi
got unruly and kicked Mr. Brown on
the leg, breaking it just above the
ankle, We regret to learn of this‘
misfortune. |
