ADJUSTERS SALE AT WALLACE'S
(Marietta News.)
Popular Clothing Store and Furnish
ing Goods Store In Charge of H.
L. Gilmore & Company of New
York Commercial Adjusters.
Universal business depression has
forced the T. L. Wallace Clothing
Company, of this city to call in ad
justers to raise 315,000 to liquidate
outstanding indebtedness.
Mr. T. L. Wallace returned from
Néw York Monday having been in
consultation with large manufactur
ing and wholesale houses relative tn
existing financial cond'tions and
through advice and to relieve him
self and firm he has decided to turn
his stock of merchandise over to Gil
more and Co. to raise money to pay
pressing obligations. Gilmore and
Co.’s representative stated that it
was his duty to inaugurate a sale
of the entire stock and that he was
to ramain in control until the
amount of money involved could be
realized.
The T. L. Wallace Clothing and
Shoe Store is one of the foremost
institutions in Marietta and has al
ways enjoyed the confidence of the
people of this section and it is to be
hoped by its many patrons that it
will be but a very short time until
things are righted satisfactorily.
This store will be closed Wednes
day and Thursday for appraisal and
inventory. The sale of the stock
starts Friday morning, December 17.
They have have made extensive pro-f
parations to handle the crowds. i
Wr. Wallace, who has been tn
husiness in our midst for the pasti
six years, wishes his friends and
patrons to know that he is not go-‘
ing out of business and expects and
hopes to cater to the people’s wants'
of Marietta and surrounding coun
try for a good many years to come
and to build up as good a business
as he has had in the past. He alsy
states that the sale about to be con
ducied will be along the same hex
orable lines that he has always chat
acterized the dealings of the Wa!
lace Store,

WALLACE'S SALE.

T. L. Wallace Clothing Co.
(Marictta Journal.)
The Adjusters Sale of the Wallace
Clothing Store and Furnishing stock
startred last Friday morning with o
rush and despite the heavy rain all
day a good crowd turned out, but on
Saturay and every day since have
been hummers and a small army of
clerks have been kept on the jump
every day supplying the wants of ea
ger Dbargain seekers, who are not
slow in stamping this the most phe
nominal bargain event ever staged
in Marietta and right they are. Nev
er before such values. Never again
such cpportunities.
It is said that last Saturday’s busi
ness established a new record for one
davs business ever done in Marietta
and today bids fair to be even greai
er than Saturday’s.
The pecople who have crowded the
store each day since the sale started
are now sending their friends, tel
ling them of the wonderful values to
be had during this Adjusters sale.
If you haven’t been here since the
sale started you've missed something.
You missed a scene of animation hus
tle and enthusiasm such as you never
saw before in any Marietta store. A
tremedous crowd on Saturday and
every day since, a steady constant
stream of well dressed people buying
spruce, smart, spick and span cloth
ing, shoes and furnishings at un
matchable prices.
Mr. Wallace expresses himself as
highly pleased with the manner in
which the people of Marietta and
surrounding country have responded
to a plain proposition to save money
on high grade merchandise ' whi'e
this unusual calamity confronts his
firm. He wishes to express his ap
preciation to his many many frien.s
and patrons for their loyal support
in time of need and in his opinion, if
the rush keeps up the amount of
money required will be raised in
much less time than he had antici
pated. All in all it has been a granil
success and will continue from day
to day on till you are notified to the
contrary through our local paper.
values offered in every department.
The most noticeable activity cen
ters around the clothing and shoe
departments. The stock is a big one,
the assortments are equally good, as
on the opening days. $22,000 stocks
are not sold in a day or a week and
you will find plenty of competent,
courteous salespeople to wait on you
properly. Our advice, don't wait un
til it is too late. The opportunity
may never occur again. Beyond a
doubt it will prove to be the great
est merchandising event of the 3ea
son and truly the clothing and shoe
opportunity that the economical and
thrifty buyers of Marietta and vicin
ity will not fail to take advantage of
during this Adjuster’s sale.
