to Stone Mountain Saturday to at-'
tend the opening exercises and lay

very funny and well patronized.

On Carnival evening Miss .Julia
Anderson entertained at dinner for
her visitors, Misses Allie Candler and
Augusta Skeen, Dr. S. J. Guy, of Ag
nes Scott college, Mr. Pittman Sut
ton, Mr. Atticus Haygood, of Deca
tur, Miss Lois Gardner and Mr. Viv
fan Waddell, of Marietta. The table
was very pretty with a center piece
of Dorothy Perkins roses and pink
candles in silver candiesticks.
MRS. NORTHCUTT'S BIRTHDAY
Mrs. E. H. Northcutt's birthday
was celebrated in a most charming
way Saturday afterncon. Mrs. John
Cocburn took her for a nice long
ride and during their absence the
Northcutt daughters-in-law came to
tc¢ther with their children bringing
baskets of good things ready for a
picnie supper. The sons had bought{
a handsome Florence oil range as a
birthday present and had it put in
the kitchen also during the ride.
Mrs. Harold Hawkins and her sis
ters, Mrs. Charlie Northcutt, Mrs.
George Northcutt and Mrs. Howard
Northeutt, arranged the supper un
der the trees in the back yard and
had plenty of lemonade and ice
cream with the delicious supper. In
cluding the grand children, there
‘were 17 present and Mrs. Northcutt
had abundant reason to be happier
than any queen we know of. Such a
