wood Thursday. They enjoyed lunch

bought by Mr. Hugh Manning and
Mr. Herman Wink.

Miss Elizabeth Logan has come to
stay with Mrs. Lawhon and little Ed
ward Groves during the absence of
Mrs. Edward Groves who is on a
visit to Mr. and Mrs. William Logan
in Bronwood, Texas.
Miss Katherine Whitfield and Miss
Hazel Hannah, of Montgomery, Ala.,
were guests of Mrs. M. M. Sessions
Thursday night and were belles at
the dance that evening. .
Mrs. W .B. Couch, of Atlanta, and
Mrs. George F. Newell have gone in
Mrs. Couch’s Locomobile to northern
Wisconsin to camp on the shore of
Lake Superior until September. They
made a trip to California and back
in the Locomobile last year ‘and
found it very pleasant.

Mrs. John Dorsey went with her
husband and other members of the
legislature to Milledgeville to inspect
the state sanitarium and spent the
4th of July in Macon on their re
turn.

Mrs. Ryburn Clay left on Sunday
for Boston to spend the summer
with her mother and sister. Mr.
Clay will go on later and spend three
weeks returning with Mrs. Clay in
September,
Mr. Whitlock will leave for New
York in a few days to spend the rest
of the summer with Mrs. Malcolm
and will be accompanied by his
daughter, Mrs. Adrian Cortelyou, and
Mrs. E. R. Hunt.
Miss Coreen Hipps and Mr. Wil
liam Woody Spinks were married
Sunday afternoon at the home of
Judge B. V. Greer who officiated,
Miss Mary Hipps was her sister's
only attendant. .

Prof. J. S. Stewart, of Athens, is
in the Davis-Fischer Infirmary in
Atlanta recovering from an opena
tion for appendicitis which attacked
him suddenly last Thursday while
he was visiting in Atlanta.
Misses Julia and Kmma Katherine
Anderson, Imogene Brown and Sa
rah Patton left Tuesday for Washing -
ton, Ga., to join a house party of
Agnes Scott girls guests of Misses
Samille and Ruth Lowe.

line. The immense lawn was light
ed with Japanese lanterns with
charming effect. Sandwiches, ices
and other dainties were served
throughout the evening and punch
was served by Misses Jeannette And
erson, Lucile Sessions and Emmie
Montgomery. On Thursday Miss
Elizabeth Nolan gave them a picture
show party with refreshments in an

Boston gave them a pretty luncheon

Malone entertained his club and also
at Mrs. Hunts on Friday evening

XThe entertainment on Wednesday:

Anderson was most enjoyable. There'
was a round table for eight set with
cluny lace and mats having a vase of
Klondyke gladioli in the center. The
place cards were adorned with brides
and bride grooms and white mints
were in silver dishes. The favors
were tiny white satin slippers filled
with rice in which were hidden var
ious symbolical trinkets beside the
usual dime, ring, thimble, wish bone
etc. There were three other small
tables appointed like the round one,
A delicious three course supper
was served with iced tea in a color
scheme of white and yellow.
Dr. Patton found a bachelor but»l
ton and Mr. J. H, Smith a dime. .

of Marietta on last Tuesday.
The ceremony was performed by
Rev. A. J, Morgan at his home in the
presence of Mrs. Morgan, Miss Fan
nie May Tippin ard Mr. Carl Butler.
The bride has been the guest of
Miss Tippin for the past month where
she met Mr. Delk. She is tne attrac
tive and popular daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Elgin of Anderson.
Mr. Delk, of the automobiie firm
of Lewis, Buuer and Delk is an en
terprising business man of Marietta.
