Plans are being perfected for a
class in French, with Miss Isabel
Amorous zs teacher. The class will
be free to soldiers and a small fee
will be charged to others who would
like to join the class. The classes
will be held at the Clarke Library
and Miss Cortelyou will assist Miss
Amorous.

her sister, Miss Margaret Cleveland
and Mr. Henry Cleveland of War
trace, Tenn. Miss Cleveland is well
known here where she has often been
a visitor

The Red Cross is planning the lar
gest, most unique entertainment that
has ever been held in Marietta.
The beautlful grounds of the Golf
Club will be used for the first time
for a public affair, and there will be
numbers of most attractive features.

men in town are working heart and
soul for the success of this event,
the proceeds of which will be divided
between the Surgical Dressings Class
and the Hospital Supplies and the
Wool Fund. \

THEATRE PARTY
Miss Minnie Lou McNeel entertain
ed delightfully for Miss Lucile Law
on Monday evening. The party drove
down to dine at the Ansley Hotel,
going to the theatre afterwards. Miss
McNeel’s guests were Misses Lucile
and Mary Ellen Law, Miss Julia Wil
lis, Mr. Betty, and Mr. Mills McNeel,
Jr. Mr. and Mrs, Mills McNeel chap
eroned the party.
DINNER AT THE CLUB
The dinner at the Club on Thurs
day evening was much enjoyed by
all attending. Everything was nice
as could be, though all the Hoover
rules were strictly observed. On the
committee in charge were Mrs. J. W.
Glover, Chairman, Mrs. L. D. Hoppe,
Mrs. C. T. Nolan, Mrs. George H.
Keeler, Mrs. Joseph M. Brown, Mrs.
