nesday afternoon. After the pictures
the party repaired to the Misses
Cole’s home, where refreshments
were served al fresco.

very pleasantly on Tuesday afternoon
in honor of Mrs. Davidson of Texas,
the sister and house-guest of Mrs.
Tomlinson. After a contest to see
who could make the ugliest: possible
bust of the kaiser, the guests enjoyed
a salad course. :

Mr. Lewis D. Hoppe, Jr., who is a
member of the U. S. A. Medical Re
serve Corps, left on Monday for
Washington City, where he will do
Research Work in the United States
Laboratory for the rest of the sum
mer. This is work usually done by
prominent physicians, and Mr. Hoppe
is honored by having the place given
him, as he is still a student at the
University of Virginia.

Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Williams an
nounce the marriage of their daugh
ter, Lilian, to Mr. William Sesher of
Cincinnati. The wedding was a pret
ty event of Saturday afternoon, tak
ing place at the home of the bride’s
parents at Fair Oaks, the Rev. R. R.
Claiborne officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Sesher left imme
diately after the ceremony fer their
future home in Cincinnati, where Mr.
Sesser has a responsible position with
the railroad.
LOVELY TEA FOR VISITORS
Misses Hooper and Frances Wikle
gave a charming tea on Tuesday af
ternoon, inviting forty-five friends to
meet their house-guests, Miss Meador
O’Farrell of Athens and Miss Lucile
Flemister of Griffin. The entertin
ment was given at the home of Mrs.
Butler, who assisted her sisters in en
tertaining. The pretty house was ar
tistically decorated with lavish quan
tities of gladieli and snap dragons,
which made a lovely setting for the
dainty midsummer frocks of the call
ers. Mrs. Len Baldwin poured tea,
and Mrs. J. M. Fowler and Mrs. G. P.
Reynolds also served in the dining
room. Others assisting the Misses
Wikle wer Misses Mary Robeson, Sara
Comfort, Constance and Lucy Cole,
and Margaret Thompson of North
Carolina.
