War Savings Stamps
(Continued from Page 1)
heard from. As soon as possible they
will be added to this list.
Roswell District is the only one
exceeding its quota, so far.
Here let me correct an error in
last weeks letter. 1 stated that if
based on banking resources, our quo
ta for the county would have been
$lOO,OOO. 1 failed to get the correct
figures, and Marietta’s Liberty Loan
quota was confused with that of the
whole county.
Corrected thus: A three billion
lean based on banking resources gave
us $226,000 for the whole county.
On the same basis, a two billion loan
would have given us two thirds of
that for the county, about $150,700.
But of course the wisdom of the
plan of giving a quota to each indi
vidual is nct question®d. The effect
of that plan is splendid in that it
made each one feel that he is an im
portant member of the state, in stirr
ing patriotism, and in encouraging
thrift.
Georgia stands tenth in the sale of
War Savings Stamps from January
Ist to June 26th. This does not in
clude pledges.
