Mr. Henry G. Cole, who has vol
unteered for the navy, left on Mon
day for Charleston. He goes from
there to New York, where he will
enter Stevens Institute to take the
training for a marine engineer.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Delk and baby
have moved into the house recently
vacated by Mr. and Mrs. George
Owens, on Washington Avenue.

Mr. Wylie Blair has graduated at
the ground school in aviation and
has now been sent to Dallas, Texas,
to complete his course.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Northcutt mo
tored up to Dahlonega on Thursday
to spend two weeks in the north Geor
gia mountains trout-fishing.

The Manning-Oslin-Hayes reunion,
. which was to have been held in At
lanta on the 17th, was called off on
account of the car-strike. - There has
been ten of these annual reunions,
and there was disappointment in
many quarters over the postpone
ment.

A happy party of fishermen went
on their annual fishing trip on “the
Hiawassee river in Tennessee this
week. These were Messrs Roy Col
lins, John Black, George and Howard
Northett, Henry Smith and D. H.
Northecutt, Henry Smith, and D. H.
Collins of Acworth. Mr. Smith car
ried the party up in his car and all
were anticipating the usual delightful
time.
