Sergt. Arthur Guy Empey in Vitagraph’s master production,
M. P. No. 14 “Over the TOP.” "
This is Guy Empey, nice, good looking fel
low he is too, but you should see his “fighting
face,” the face he showed to the Germans in
the trenches, the face before which they fled
in terror.
We might write volumes on the subject, but
we cannot give you any adequate idea of the
thrill, the mad coursing of the blood through
your veins, that this picture will produce.
These Are The Boys Who Are Winning The War
The Airplane scenes are from the Long Island Aviation Fields
A visit to Camp Wheeler, near Macon, Ga,, where U.
S. Regulars are in training, is all that any American needs
to convince hinrthrat we will win the war, according to Ser
geant Arthur Guy Empey, veteran of a score of battles in
France, author of “Over the Top” and patriotic lecturer.
Empey who was wounded seven times in battle, recently
returned from Camp Wheeler, where he and a company of
Vitagraph players who apper with him in “Over the Top,”
the screen version of his famous book, went to make
trench scenes. They were there more than two weeks,
and in the making of the raiding scenes more than 7,500
regular soldiers were used.
Many Cobb County boys trained at Camp Wheeler,
many of them were there when these scenes _were _made.
Many of them are actually in the scenes. Possibly you
can recognize some of them in the pictures. At any rate
when you see them come out of the trenches and go “Over
the Top” with Guy Empey, you will feel that you are being
carried along in the wild charge, that with fixed bayonet

Every father and mother of an American boy in khaki
should see “Over the Top.” It shows just what we are up
against, but it shows that American boys can take care of
themselves.
“Sammy, old boy, remember that you are going over to
France to lick hell out of Germany. You can do it, too.
“Just give old Kaiser Bill and his “wonderful effici
ency staff”’ such a Yankee walloping that there won’t be
enough gas left to fill the envelops of one of his baby-kill
ing gas bags called Zeppelins. :
“Sammy, you’ve never been licked yet and you are
getting too old te learn new habits. 4
“The old folks at home are proudly watching you, so
get busy and make this little old world sit up and take
notice.”
That is what Guy Empey said, and the boys are
doing it too.
