BLEffliN AMMUNITION Native Indian Troops Destroy ed Park After Allies Artillery Efforts Had Failed; Coast Artillery Moved to Rear. London. —The correspondent of the Daily -Mail in Paris describes how the Gurkhas (native Indian troops) blew up a German ammunition park, thus causing some of the German coast bat teries to move to the rear. He says: "All the efforts of the allies’ artil lery against these batteries had been unavailing and the Germans were causing severe losses when the air scout 3 located the ammunition stores seven miles behind the German lines. "At night the Gurkhas detachment departed on gunboats which proceeded to the month of Yser and after a long silent march the Gurkhas reached the German ammunition stores guarded by six sentries. Six silent figures moved toward them each carrying a long knife. Then a sound like the croak ing o. a frog was heard and the six sentries iisappeared. “Shortly afterward the general staff of the allies saw a great flash of light on th , horizon and heard a great ex ■ piosion followed by countless others, J.vsr the shells and shrapnel in their cases exploded in all directions. The GurHias returned safely to the gm boats." SECRET MOVE IT BRITISH GOV'T Four Distinguished Men Sent to the Continent. Importance Evidenced By Mission’s Mem bers.
