Mr. Gracey has kindly given space at J. B. White’s for this sale and the members urge their friends to buy some of the deli cious cakes, bread, candies, pickles and preserves which will be on sale. The chapter is undertaking this to help defray the many expenses inci dent to Meadow Garden. One can readily see that the small amount re ceived from visitors cannot meet the indebtedness an old house necessarily incurs. This historical home of George Walton should be and probably is the pride of every Augustan and so the chapter feels justified in asking for hearty co-operation in their Pantry Sale. Beauty at Sweet Sixteen Comes Back When One Clears Up the Complexion by the Quick Acting Stuart’s Calcium Wafers. Pimples are an offense to others and a crime against yourself. People have only tolerated you because they con sider the condition of your face to be a misfortune against which you have no remedy. But now that it is uni versally known that Stuart's Calcium Wafers will usually banish pimples, blackhkeads, blotches, eruptions, and liverspots, your continued negligence will be considered inexcusable. “I Wish I Could Make Every Pimply Woman Take Stuart’s Calcium Wa fers Just One Week.” The person with a pimply face is al ways unattractive and at a disadvan tage in society. Those ugly disfigure ments set at naught the effect of the most perfect features. If your face and figure had the classical outlines of a Greek statue, a mass of pimples would still destroy your beauty. A clear, fresh skin is absolutely essential to any real beauty. A beautiful complexion is dependent on a rich, pure, abundant supply of blood to the skin. Calcium sulphide has long been recognized as one of the most effective of blood purifiers. Quickly converting all impurities into gaseous form that readily escapes from the pores, it purifies the blood in remarkably short order. Calcium sulphide is the chief constituent of Stuart's Calcium Wafers, which con tain besides, certain mild alteratives that invigorate the blood. You will be delighted at the rapidity with which all face disorders will disappear, once the hlood has been cleansed of its impurities through their use. You have a right to beauty and health and happiness. You have a right to the admiration and respect of others. Take the step that will gain you all of these. Get a 50c box of Stuart's Calcium Wafers of your drug gist and win back your birthright. A small sample package mailed free by addressing F. A. Stuart Co., 175 Stuart Bldg., Marshall, Mich. SOCIAL GOSSIP Then come, my friend, forget your foes and leave your fears behind, And wander forth to try your luck with cheerful, quiet mind; For be your fortune great, or small, you’ll take what God may give, And all the day your heart shall say, “’Tis luck enough to live." —Van Dyke. The many warm friends of Miss Mary Moran will he delighted to learn that she will return this week to resume her charge of the City Hospital. Miss Moran has been nt her eld home In Philadel phia for the past several weeks re covering from a severe case of nervous breakdown. The Rev. Charles Noyes Tyn dell, former pastor of the Church of the Good Shepherd, who is re membered so pleasantly by his friends here, is now in charge of Christ Church, Williamsport, Pa., the services of institution having taken place last Sunday and be ing folio-wed Monday evening by a reception in the parish house at which were present not only the entire large congregation, but others ns well. The good wishes from many Augusta frienrm fol low Mr. Tyndell to hts new call. The Lorlys Rogers incident, if such a trivial word may be used in speaking of such a stupendous crime against woman as has been perpetrated by Lorlys Rogers, has an Augusta connection. It appears that the middle Mrs. Rogers, the only one who holds an up-to-date marriage certificate, owns soma property on Riverside Drive, New York, one of the apartments of which is occupied by the Louis Brookses, and Mr. Brooks is get ting into some little newpaper prominence by refusing to pay the rent to Mr. Rogers. It appears that when Mr. Brooks learned of the attempt at suicide of the wo man he thought was Mr. Rogers’ wife he immediately sent a check for the payment of the rent with a few words of sympathy to the bereaved (?) Mr. Rogers. Upon learning the facts of the case a little later he stopped payment on the check alleging that the fur niture and library were the prop erty of Mrs. Lorlys Rogers and that it was to her that he would pay th* rent. Mr. Brooks fur ther quoted in the New York Tribune as saying that Mr. Rogers “was a scoundrel and that if he lived in the South he would be tarred and feathered and ridden out of town.” Friends of Miss Elizabeth Gai ther, physical director of the Y. W. C. A., will sympathize with her in the death of her uncle, Dr. E. M. Wiley, of Lexington, Ky. Dr. Wiley was a very prominent phy sician of Lexington, a cousin of Dr. Harvey Wiley, of Pure Food fame, and his loss will he a great blow to his city as well as to his immediate family. Mrs. Henry White, who has spent the past week with Mr. White at Miss Stephens', left yes terday accompanied by Mr. White for Boston. Mr. White has been here for some weeks being the architect of one or two of the new homes on the Hill. Mrs. White is a woman prominently identified with the Anti-Suffrage Organiza tion of Massachusetts, being on the executive board of the Mas sachusetts Anti-Suffrage Asso ciation and chairman of the pub licity committee. She is one of the most attractive of women, with a quick mind that easily grasps a situation and with equal facility is able to put it before others. She is a most interesting talker. A talk with her along anti-suffrage lines leaves one with much the impression that It Is the only legitimate thing for a wo man to be. She, however, has gone, and the Augusta women are now eistlning to the Equal Suffrage talks with all their old Interest. The celebration by the Daugh ters of the Confederacy of Leo’s birthday, will he an interesting event of Tuesday, taking place at the Confederate Hall.
