Mr. C. E. von Sprecken died at his residence, No. 21 Broad street, in his 60th year, early Sunday morning. The remains were shipped to Charleston, S. C., Monday morning for interment. Services were held Sunday at 5:30 (O'clock. A delegation from Vigilant lodge No. 2, Knights of Pythias, will | accompany the body. MINNIE L. REESE PASSED AWAY SUNDAY Mrs. Minnie L. Reese, the wife of Mr. E. L. Reese, died at the City hospital Sunday after an illness of three days. NEGRO BOY ROBBED HIS EMPLOYER Hamilton Alexander, a negro boy, was sent to the reformatory for three years by Recorder Picquet Monday for burglarizing the store of Dr. A. J. Deas. The boy was employed in the store. Saturday night he broke open the door and stole some chewing gum. a case of surgical instruments, and a few other things. He admitted to taking the goods. The case was worked up by Detective Williams. CURTIS CHURCH DID NO CHOOSE MINISTER . r » The committee for the selecting of a minister for the Curtis Baptist church held a meeting at the churci* Sunday. The committee talked over different ministers, but they could not decide on one who was favorable to the majority of the members of the church, so the matter of calling a minister wa* put off indefinitely. 1
