THE SPLENDID NEW BANK AND CEFICE 0
New Irish American
Bank Building
ONE OF AUGUSTA’S LEADING FINANCIAL IN
STITUTIONS.
The Irish American Bank has made a splendid re
cord here in Augusta, and its new home and bank
building is a fitting setting for one of Augusta’s most
progressive and representative financial institutions.
In many ways the growth of this Bank is typical of the
new spirit that Augusta is showing in all lines ot
business enterprise.
GROWTH OF THE IRISH AMERICAN BANK.
A comparative statement of the deposits of this
Bank from the date of opening, April 10th, 1899, are
as follows:
April 10th, 1899 $ 2,515 32
1901 112,389 15
1903 200,000 00
1905 223,773 69
1907 .. 301,146 70
1909 325,189 64
The capital of the Irish American Bank at the be
ginning of business on April 10th, 1899, was $15,000.
This capital has been increased to $30,000, with a sur
plus of $20,000, which is the Bank’s showing and
standing on April 10th, 1909. This increase in capital
was authorized January Ist, 1908.
A SPLENDID SHOWING WITH A DIVIDEND OF
100 PER CENT.
On January Ist, 1908, the Irish American Bank de
' clared a dividend to its stockholders of record of 100
per cent.., which is probably the best shewing of its
kind that has been made by any of the Augusta banks
in recent years.
OFFICERS OF THE IRISH AMERICAN BANK.
The executive officers of the Irish-American Bank
are: Captain P. Armstrong, President; Mr. H. 11.
Stafford, Vice-President, Mr. J. P. Armstrong, Cashier.
The Board of Directors, in addition to the officers, in
cludes (’apt. P. 11. Rice, John W. Walker, M. J. Mc-
Auliffe, L. J. Williams, J. M. Smith and John Sancken
—all of whom are representative and progressive cit
izens interested largely in the business and progress
of Augusta in the various lines of business.

MR. L. F. GOODRICH,
Architect.
The designing of fills very mod
ern and at the same time extremely
artlsfie bank building, was perfected
entirely by Mr. L. F. Goodrich. This
building now stands as another monu
ment to the unauestloned architectur
al ability of Mr. Goodrich, and is
also quite an addition to the appear
ance of Augusta's main business
street.
MR. R. G. BARINOWSKI,
Decorative Painter.
Mr Bartnowski, in charge of the
interior decorations, has shown splen
did results in the harmonizing of the
walls with the Cathedral glass sky
lights, and in perfect accord with
the massively handsome marble and
brass interior work.
Unquestionably a most decided ar
tistic talent is required in the selec
tion of tones for interior decorations,
to bring the entire effect into one
harmonious whole.

F. H. Boatwright,
Bookkeeper.
J. H. McXINZIE’S SONS,
Contractors.
Necessarily the correct carrying
out of the architects ideas in even
the simplest cottage, depends upon
the ability of the contractors in
charge of the work. How much more
responsibility rests upon the con
tractors. when the designs call for a
very large buildipg originated in an
other's brain, and yet a mental pic
ture of what .the desiener intended,
must be striven for, and obtained at
ali costs.
And so, not a little of the credit \
should be given to ,1. H. McKenzie's
Sons, for the construction of this
magnificent building.

MR. W. F. BOWE,
Stone Contractor.
Known throughout the entire South,
it is small wonder that the responsi
ble stone contract for the Irlsh-Amer
ican Bank building was assigned to
Mr. Bowe.
Mr. Bowe has made Augusta his
home and the home of his large busi
ness for many years, but his terri
tory Is not confined by the city lim
its by any means. In fact, Mr. Bowe,
while doing a tremendous city buei
nes, covers a hundred fold the terri
tory permitted by Augusta’s business
area, and practically every S uthern
state has been the gainer by the re
sults of Mr. Bowe's work
