Milburn. in introducing President William McKinley to a gath ering of many thousands of people at the Pan-American exposition grounds in Buffalo the day before McKinley was laid low by an assassin's bullet. "How long was the introductory speech?" another newspaper man asked. "Nine words. Mr. Milburn eould have talked for an hour and couldn’t have said more than was embodied in those nine words." said the first news paper man. "What did he say?” came from a half dozen about the press table.
