Miss Mary Julia Roper Weds
Mr. Joseph Ripley in Edgefield
Special to The Herald.
EDGEFIELD, S. C. —One of the
most beautiful weddings that has
ever been in Edgefield was that of
Miss Mary Julia Roper and Mr. Jos
eph Ripley, of Albany, New York,
which was solemnized on Wednesday
evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs
Preston Brooks May son. The house
was most beautifully decorated, with
graceful vines, and pure white roses.
The wide hall, stair-way and both
front parlors were carpeted in white,
and with the lights of many candles
made a fitting background for the
brilliant assembly of handsomely
gowned women. The ceremony was
performed by the Rev. Mr. Shannon
house and never did that beautiful
Episcopal marriage service sound so
sweet as when It made the lovely
Miss Roper the bride of the manly
and distinguished looking Mr. Joseph
Ripley. She wore an imported gown
of heavy white satin, elaborately
trimmed in tare old lace and ropes of
seed pearls, the gown was made en
train and fitted her perfect figure to
perfection. A long tulle veil with a
corwn of real organde blossoms, cov
ered her lovely face, and never did

If, of the two people it takes to make a
bargain, you are ONE, how much would it be
worth to you to find the other oue? Would it
be worth the eost. of a classified ad? Would it
be worth the eost of a small —hut determined--'
“campaign of want advertising?”
The “other one” necessary to “make a bar
gain” is found, in nine cases out of ten. through
advertising; and, in Augusta usually through
want advertising in THE HERALD.
“The other one” watches the want ads.

Apropos of the centefiary of the

absence had been much commented

The Marshal, not the least perturb
