CA. THE AUGUSTA HERALD NAUGHTY SEA BREEZE DISROBES MAIDEN Gownless Girl Plunges Into Cab At Atlantic City and Escapes To Her Hotel. ATLANTIC CITY—The sensation of being disrobed by a young hurri cane was the fate of a young woman who with two companions had gone to the board walk to see the thrilling spectacle of the sea in its greatest rage in ten years. The gale was forced down the lane between the two high buildings at Ocean avenue and the boardwalk at a speed which bared the heads of women and men in a twinkling. The wind took hold of the light summer gown of the woman, gave it a few flirts and then the ripping began. There were screams and women in the vicinity started to the rescue while men, too, began to move for ward to save the catastrophe of an Involuntary disrobing act on the prom enade, Quick as she dropped her umbrella and left her millinery to its fate, the gale was quicker. The skirt parted in several places and lingerie was exposed in such profusion 'that there were cries of Oh!” from many di rections. With a blush and wail she rushed to a cab and was driven away in confusion, deserting her two girl companions. CARRIERS WANTED Wanted several boys with wheels to carry The Herald. Apply J. V. NEW YORK—When Mrs. Hugh Moriarty was taken from her home in the suburbs of Montclair, N. J., to the - Mountainside Hospital last week with typhoid fever, her daughter, Esther, who is five, wanted to go along, and didn't understand why It was that she couldn't. Her tears over the parting were scarcely dried before her sister, Lil lian, eight was taken to the hospital also as a typhoid victim. Then her favorite aunt, Mrs. .Delia Mulholland, who lived in the jame house, was stricken, and had to make the same journey. ‘‘Why can’t I go?” pleaded Esther “They all have typhoid dear,” she was told, “and you’re a well little girl.” “Well, can’t I have typhoid like mamma and auntie and Lily?” she asked. "Please let me have it. too." Then she cried indignantly. “I want it! I want typhoid!” The family had been drinking out of an old well which, it has been found, was infee'ed. The doctors felt sure that Esther could scarcely escape the fever which had attacked the others, so they told her: “Well, maybe if you're a good girl you'll get it, too.” Yesterday the symptoms appeared. When they told the child and brought the ambulance to the house, she danced and clapped her hands for joy. “Oh, I'm glad!” she exclaimed. “I got it! I'm going to mamma!” She was placed in the same ward as her relatives, all of whom are in a serious condition. Little Esther makes the twelfth case of typhoid fever in the neigh borhood resulting from infected wells. The wells have now all been closed.
