To the members of the Hebrew race the Day of Atonement is the Sabbath of Sabbaths and special beautiful and impressive services are held in ev ery synagogue in the world. At the local synagogue, the Tem ple of the Children ot Israel, two oeautiful services have been arranged for, one on Friday evening at 8 o’clock and another at 10 o'clock on Saturday morning, l’be services will be conducted by Rabbi H. Walenski, who was invited by the congregation to come from Cleveland, wnere he was residing to lake cuarge of the services during the New Year period of feast days which opened with the celebration of Rash Hashona last Wednesday evening. Mr. Walenski has made a profound impression upon tne congregation, and his sermons on Repentance and Atonement which he is to deliver at the lom Kippur ser vices will be heard by large gather ings. During the services the invited minister expects ail members of the congregation to make repentance and to pray lor a good and prosperous New year. The year now being ob served oy the Jews since last Wed nesday is the 5670th since the creation. At both ot the services a special pro gram of beautiful music win be given oy an augmented choir under the di rection of Mr. K. J. Watson, the or ganist at the Synagogue.
