Following the trial of the case of
W. T. Ramsey against the Charles
ton and Western Carolina railway, in
which a verdict was found for the de
fendant, the November term of the
city court was adjourned.
The Ramsey case was one in which
the plaintiff was suing for SSOO dam
ages for injuries received in a wreck
while on an excursion train. The rail
road won the case by it’s counsel prov
ing that the track and equipment was
in splendid condition and that When
the train ran off the track it violated
all mechanical laws by running off on
the inside of a curve.
The city court will probably hold
another term in January for the trial
of criminal cases.
