, Sour Cream Cookie*—One cup su¬
gar, i -2 cup butter, 1 egg, 1 cup sour
cream, 1 teaspoon soda, nutmeg and
salt, flour to mix soft.
Lemon Snaps—One egg, 1 cup su¬
gar, 2 lablespooumis butter, 1-4 cup
milk, 1 teaspoonful lemoh, 2 tea
spoonfuis baking powder, flour enough
to roll; roll very thin, sprinkle top
with sugar and bake quickly.
Cream Candy—Two cups sugar, X
teaspoon cream of tartar, l cup water,
1 teaspoon flavoring. Cook sugar. Wa¬
ter arid cream of Tartar until brittle
when tried in cold water, add vanilla,
poiy onto greased platter or marble.
Pull as soon as It can be handled.

strips of salt fish. Pour hot water
over them and drain it off. Put flour
and butter in a dish over hot water,
and when the butter has melted stir
