TILDEN.
: S "
Just at thistime there scems to
be a boom for Bamuel J. Tilden for
the dewocratic nomination for
President, especially is this so in
Georgia. It partakes of the same
strength that characterized the
Field boom which resulted in a col
lapse, and inathe nominption in
of Hancock.
We heiieve that Mr. Tilden is
one gt the purest politicians and.g
blest arganizers in the demacrtic
party, but his age is a great draw
back teo hisusefulness He has lost
that physical bouyancy sonecessa
to the proper discharge of the du
ties that would be incumbent upon
him, If he is nominated ahe ‘@lec
ed, we prediet, that like tho lamen
ted A, I, Btephens, his endurance
will succomb to physical - dissolu
tion. We will sapport Mr Tilden
thougir, knowing full well that the
Vice President will be some able
democrat who will go forward -in
carrying out the reforms that Mr
‘Tilden would be sure to inaugu.
