Tribute of Respect.
Atter a long and useful life Rev.
(. W. Butrson was summened to
the other world Sunday Inight
August 24, aged 71 years. Mr.
Burson united with the Missionary
Baptist Church and was baptized
August Bth, 1845, He was after
wards ordained to the ministry, in
which service he lived and died a
faithful worker, growing stronger
in faith as his years advanced.
When the silent messenger of death{
approached he ealmly resigned all
into the hands of God whom he
trusted, leaving bright evidence of
his happiness in after hife. When
his span of life was almost spent
and his earthly vision dim, he
remarked to those around his bed
gide that he suw where he was
gaing and passed away murmuring,
“Blessed Jesus.” .
We feel sure his gpirit rests in
Heaven where no pain or sorrow
comes, where the broken links of
earth’s friendship are again united
and where the footsore and travel
stained pilgrim finds a home and
the glories of the new Jerusalem,
We will miss him in his accustom
ed seat in the sanctuary where he
has worshiped so long, Many will
remember the admonitions of him
who has passed from the walks ot
men. He bas delivered bis vale-|
