What could be accomplished in
Buchanan within the next twelve
months towards building up the
place if the citizens would unite
on all questions of public enterprise,
is almost beyond conception. What
wiLL be accomplished otherwise, is
eastly determined.
Our drawing will take place on

" If ever there was a time when
our people should stand united on
any enterprise calenlated to advance
the interests of Buchanan, that time
is now. Lt some-ieshappens that
a word or act thoughtlessly spoken
or done defeats a project in which
all are vitally interested. Let us
stand as one man on all projects in
augurated for the benefit of the
whole people.
Lest Tuesday evening at the
Loveless House the young people
had one of the most pleasant gather
ings ever given in Buchanan. Col.
Edwards tendered them the use of
his law office, where dancing was
indulged in to the delight of many.
There were many graceful dancers
present, and Mr. D. Reid furnish
ed the music. Mr. Wagner did the
calling to perfection, and every
thing went harmoniously, to the
tdelight of all present.

- We joined the excursionists to
Crawfish Springs last Saturday,
but we went on through to Chatta
nooga, and on our return stopped at
the prosperous cities of Rome and
Cedartown. The scenery on this
route is grand indeed, the lofty
monntains and fertile valleys pre
sent a picture too sublime for de
scription. lowever, the pleasure
of the excursionists was somewhat
marred by the rowdy conduct of a
few men on board the train who
were drinking. On returning two
men named Woods and Kelley, both
of whom lived near Felton, had a
‘hand to hand fight.

* A box of Ayer’'s Pills has saved
many a fit of sickness. When a
remedy does not happen to be with
in reach, people are liable to neg

WHAT ON EARTH
Is the reason people will not, can
not, or do not see any difference in
cheap nostrums put up by Cheap
John houses or irresponsible parties
at enormous profits, rather than
take a medicine of worldwide rep
utation and one that is giving uni
versal satisfaction as equal price?
No medicine in the world is giving
such unparalleled satisfaction for
purifying the blood as Beggs’ Blood
Purifier & Blood Maker, and every
bottle that does not do its work will
cost yon nothing. Summerville &

Bishop & Hearn, Waco, Ga.
Sombebody will, for SI,OO, get

may be the fortunate one.
Fluent writers may deceive the
ignorant by lying theories, but the
intelligent man demands assurance
that a theory is true. Nothing is
so conyincing to an intelligent
reader as the plain and simple
words ‘of those grateful ones who
were sick but have been made well
by using B. B. 8., (Botanic Blood
Balm), found printed in our paper,
from time to time or contained in

It has been many a year since
the fruit trees were as heavily laden
with fruit as they are this year.
What a fortunate thing it would be
if Buchanan had a canning factory.
Money would be made out of it.

of truth in a few words when it
says: ‘““Every community which

We have no right to expect outside

allow their children to cough and
