A peculiarity of Hood’s Sarsa parilla is that while it purifies the blood, it imparts new vigor to every function of the body. ~ We have been over the county in different directions recently, and the crops everywhere seem to be just as good as the land will produce. I have on hand and still receiv ing the Cheapest and Best stock of Shoes ever brought to this place. Call while attending court and look for yourselves. ) G. M. RoBERTS. We had a pleasant call last Fri day from Mr. David Haas, pro prietor of the Model Clothing House of Tallapoosa. Mr. Haas is a prince among merchants, and says he will soon tell the people something of the large stock re cently bought, and the great bar gains he has for them, } When the best citizens of a town get together and resolve to pull in harness, and pull together, that town is bound to grow. It has secured something better than northern capital or outside labor; it has developed its own strength and spirit. The best means of development are those which the people arouse in themselves. And this spirit is invincible when everybody feels it.—LaGrange Graphic. Last Sunday, in company with Mr. W. S. Martin, a clever shoe drummer from Nashville, and Messrs. G. M. Roberts and J. W. Ogletree, we attended services at Macedonia primitive Baptist church. There were alsoa num ber of others present from Buech anan. The services were indeed impressive and spiritual. Uncle Robert Speights preached one of his best sermons, and though he is now very old, he has not lost that power and manner of speech which never fails to get the at tention of his econgregation. His eloquence and clear scriptural logic is always listened to with rapt attention. After the morn ing services, a sumptuous dinner was spread, and the large crowd who had partaken of the spiritual food, were made to renew their bodily strength also. The after- B ?u services ‘were taken up in soffg and prayer, partaking of the Lords supper a.;*d waghing of feet. The setvice of foot wasfiing was the most impressive of the day.— The members of the church en tered into it in the spirit of meek ness and prayer, and the influence of the Holy Spirit was upon the entire congregation. It was one of the best meetings it has ever been our good pleasure to attend, and will long be remembered by all present. In company with Mr. T. W. Griffith, and behind his excellent horse, we drove to Felton last Tuesday. The road from Buch anan to Felton is one of the best in the county, and all along are signs of progress and prosperity. We passed several prosperous saw mills, and the farms were indeed inviting and cheering. Cotton and corn are both very fine, and the orchards laden with luscious fruits of different varieties lend enchantment to the scene. Felton was soon reached, and the air of business presented was-inspiring. Nearly everybody seemed busy, and the hum of the machinery about the saw and planing mills made music that could but be ap preciated. Felton is a new town on the C. R. & C. Road, seven or. eight miles above . Buchanan, and its growth has been rapid. It is a great lumber mart, having a number of mills for the manufac ture and working of lumber. It also has a number of stores, and is beautifully located. There are numbers of old settlers here who used to chase the deer right along where this flourishing town now stands. What a revolution! After cirenlating among the busy men and adding a good number of names to our already large list of gubscribers at this place, we set our face homeward, well pleased with Felton and her hospitable people, and thankful for their ap preciation of the BANNER. Advice to Mothers. Mrs, Winsrow’s SoorrlNG Syrupshouldalways be used when children are cutting teeth. A few citizens of Haralson have applied to the managers of the Piedmont Exposition of Atlanta for space for a county exhibit.— Everybody in the county are earnestly requested to meet in Buchanan on the first Tuesday in September to take such steps as will secure a fine exhibit. It is a matter that should elicit the pride of every citizen in the coun ty, and a good exhibit will be worth much to the county. Come to the meeting on the first Tues day in September. Unfortunates who are seeking their health are many. They should remember that the very best advertisement of a remedy is the true testimony from people who have used it. Write to the Blood Balm Co., Atlanta, Ga., for their “Book of Wonders.”” It is filled with convincing testimoni als from hundreds who have used B. B. B. No other remedy has grown so rapidly in public favor. In localities where its extraordi nary merits have become known it outsells all other remedies. It cleanses, renews and purifies the blood. It creates a healthy appe tite and a healthy digestion. Du ty demands that you give it a trial. ; 6-30. On wednesday in company with one of the cleverest men and best postmasters in Georgia, Mr. w. A. mecalman, we set out to visit the farm of mr. Sidney Aldridge. Part of the way we found the road pret ty rough, and were very well shaken up by the time we reached our destination. But we were well paid for the shake.— we were never more cordially welecomed ‘than by wr. and wrs, Aldridge. we had not more than taken our seats before mr. A brought in'a large basket of the finest peaches of different varieties, to which we did full justice. Having finished this part of the program; then we set out to view his fish pond, erops, orchards, &ec. we first visited the fish pond, and casting a little bread on the water, the fish would rush for it in great nambers.— They were about as thick as could swim, of all sizes. It was indeed interesting to watch them. we held a peice of bread in our hand and they would eat from it. The fish were of the carp variety, and mr. Aldridge takes great pride in his fish culture. we then walked over the farm, !and never saw finer erops of corn and cotton. It Jooks like living here, and in ‘deed théy do live, for by the time we re turned to the house mrs. A had prepared a most excellent dinner, which we great ly enjoyed. mr. Aldridge is a model farmer. raising all kinds of grain, fruits and vegetables, He had the finest to bacco patch we have seen, and consider able area planted in peanuts. we will; long remember our trip to this hos pitable home with pleasure. l I HOW CAN PARENTS ‘allow their children to cough and strain and cough and calmly say: “QOh! it is only a little cold,” and keep giving them cheap and dan gerous medicines, until they are down with lung fever or consump tion, when they can be so easily relieved by Beggs’ Cherry Cough Syrup? It has no superior, and few equals. Neill & Co., Buch anan, Ga., and Bishop & Hearn, Waco, Ga. A perfect complexion, free from pimple or blemish, is very rarely seen, because few people have perfectly pure blood. And yet, all disfiguring eruptions are easi ly removed by the use of Ayer’s Sarsaparilla. Try it, and surprise your friends with the result. ‘ mr.
