HARALSON BANNER, I will feel very great

Where i& our Felton correspondent
mow, “Ruff and Ready,” that he is not
writing auymore for and in behalf of our
fair ligtle town, Felton? Is he dead, or is
e so busiily engaged cutting cord wood
‘that he has not time to write? Felton
meeds a regular correspondent, for she
is a worthy and progressive little town
and deserves all the credit that may be
wiven her,
The good people of this place and sur
.rounding community are very busy at
tending to their own affairs in life, and
everything is moving on quietly.
Last Monday evening we had a fine re.
freshing rain, which animated the farm
ers and they are all in high spirit They
report their crops as being very flour
ishing and promise a good harvest.
When the farmers do well all do well, ' is
& trne adage.
Felton can proadly boast of her school,
which is in 2 first class condition under
the management of Prof. J. C. Rokerson.
Prof. Roberson opened school here on the
first Monday in January, last, and he
has sinee that tsme enrolled one hundred
and thirty-six pupils from Haralson
county and twenty-five from Polk, :
Felton has also a fine Sunday sehool,
and an interesting Literary Society.

I hearsome talking of getting
ready for a county fair, and if
Haralson does attempt such a thing
we don’t want her to make a fail

LITTLE CREEK DOTS.
Oh? how ouy hearts rejoice this
morning for the blessed good rain
is falling to okeer our hearts and
build up our hopes for a good vrop
year. ur expectations are great.
We expect a great and glorious
time this year beth spiritwal and
temporally.
We had a good meeting.
Last week Sister King preached
from Thursday night till Sunday.
The spirit of God is always with
her. She can exercise more fath
in God than any person I ever
saw, Last Friday night we think
she preached the best sermon we:
ever heard fall from the lips of
any paeacher. We want to have
a geod time to-morrow. May the
{Lord be with us that we may
please him in all we say and do,
Saturday evening.
The picenic is over, I neversaw
a better behaved crowd of people
in my life with the exception of
one young man who seemed a lit
tle disposed to fight.
We had six speeches and good sing
ing. The names of the spoakers are as
follows:
~ Henry F. Oswalt, Josh Fincher, John
Sims, Rev, W. F. Lassetter, of Tallapoo
ga, Then dinney was arnounced and all
ate. The speakers after dinner were Mr,
and Mrs. Flem Lingo, but I was about to
forget. First of all, Mr, James Sims
opened the day services with the intro-.
ductory speech, which was very good.
There were between four and five hun
dred people present and there was plenty
of dinner on the table for as many more,
Our Sunday school is prospering and
growing every day. God is hearring
our prayers and answering them. Just
come over some Sunday evening Mr. Ed
itor and see what the good Lord is deing
through his servants who are laboring
with his people. Well, I will close for
this time. May the Lord bless his peo
ple forever. Amen.

Trade is exceptionally good for
the season, so say the merchants.
Rev. T. A. Higdon, of Tallapoo

Sunday.
The farmers say they never saw
as fine prospects for good crops as
now. : ;
Myr. John Stewart of Carrollton
spent Sunday in Waco.
Messrs Johu Hutcheson and E.
J. Walton of Tallahoosa were over
to see their best girls last Sunday.
Mr, Jesse Beall and wife, of
near Temple, spent Saturday night
and Sunday in Waco,
Mr. J, S. Jeter has rebuilt his
machine shop and is running full
time.
We noticed Col. C. J. Juhan on
our streets last week, -
~ Btreet working was the order
of the day last week.
~ Mr. Laz Hood, of Philadelphia,
is on a visit to relatives in Waco.
Dr. Aderhold returned from hisl
visit north last Friday.
Mr. G. W, Little of Atlant is in
Waco.
Mzr. Joe Carroll of Atlanta has
moved to Waco where he will make
hisfuture home. We are glad to get
such citizens as Bro. €. 10 locate
in our midst.
Is it not time our democratic
executive sommittee was taking
some action in regard to finding
a man to represent Haralsen coun
ty in the legislatare, also one for
the senate? We think the office
should ‘“hunt’’ the man instead of
the man the office. Waco has got
pkenty of good men that would
go if elected fairly and squarly
by the people. Give the people a
{ chance and let them say who they
{'want. :

There's The Dinner Bell !
What a clattering and chatter
ing as the children answer the
dinner bell and rush into the din

a good appetite as our noon day’s
meal is set before us. But this
vacant chair, what does it mean?
“Oh! that is Uncle Charley’s seat.
Guess he don’t feel like eating,
he’s got dyspepsia, youn know.”
“‘Dysdepsia ! horrors ! Deliver us
from dyspepsia. What’s the use
