IN A CONVENT Miss Cigrand Retired, Says Holmes After he Bet.ayed her- Philadelphia, August 2.—ln an interview today Holmes said that the Cigrand worn >n was alive and in a convent. The story that he told of the affair was that the girl was a typewriter and a pure wom an. He took advantage of her, and when the girl went to confession she told the priest about her trou ble, and he ca.led upon Holmes and raised a row about it. As a re sult of this Holmes said he took the girl off, and a mock marriage was held. Afterward Miss Cigrand discovered how she had been dup ed. McClelland 1 cated four miles N< rth of C n tralia. The skeletons were supposed to be those of Alexander and Oscar McClelland, father and brot er ot John A. McClelland, but they were never fully identified. Every grand jury,since has inves tigated the mystery, but no indict ment has been found before. Ta*’or was brought into the case by a confession which a divorced wife made before the gra'd jury in Jan uary last. What new evidence has been presented to this grand jury is not known.
