Brown, tiled her hill for a divorce, in which she charged her husband with divers crimes, as detailed in dispatches at that time. Mr. Brown came out in a card a’king the public to reserve!ts opin ion, and declaring that his wife haJ made n ter ib'o mistake. It; now appears that she did make a terrible mist'ke in the charges, or else acted hastily through jealousy. At a»’V rate, she withdrew the pa pers oday and caused the case to, bo dismissed. Biggs is the “slick duck” who a few days ago, left this city aft< r “doing” a number of citizens out of sundry amounts of c< ld cash. lie represented himself as the agent of Kahn Bros, State St. Chicago, and was soliciting con tracts for theconstruction of pants. He took many orders from Ro mans, requiring a deposit of from 25 cents to $2.50 each, according to his victim. Biggs was here for a week and bled the city for about SBO. He al so got mine host Gomez, of the Central for a dozen dollars for board. When he skipped he left a valise in his room, said satchel contain ing neatly wrapped packages of new Government building brick. Officer Copeland will go down af ter the gentleman.
