Anniedelle, Ga., Aug., 10.—We had a very severe thunder storm, Friday afternoon, the wind did considerable damage, to the timber and corn, Crops of both cotton and corn, were never better in the Bend than they are this year. Qvite an interesting meeting is in progress at prospect Chii'ch. A number of accessions have been made to the membership.‘The pas tor Mr. Harris, has bee assisted by the Presding Elder Mr. Pierce. Mrs. Nichols, of Spartanburg, S. C., is visiting her sister Mrs. H W. Dean. Master Donegan, and his sister Mary Dean Towers, of Marietta, are visiting their grandfather Mr. H. W. D mn. The many friens cf clever Char ley Eweing, will be pained to hear of his illness with inflammatory rheumati-m. He is now at tl e home of his sister Mrs H. W Camp. Mrs. Dallas Turner, is now at her country home taking advantage of he abundant fruit crop, putting away quantifies of it for win er use Mr. Fred King, visited his farm ’odny, and was very much pleased at the prospect of a fine crop. Mrs. Smith an I family of At lanta, are visiting the family of Mrs John Weatheis. Miss Trainer, of Chattan oga, is visiting Miss Ida Kerr. There was a barbecue at Proctor’s Spring, Thursday, quite a large crowd was in attendance. Mrs. Sanford, of Waynesboro, Ga , and her daughter Miss Della, a-e visitin Mr. V. T. Sanford’s family. Mrs. Sanford has been quite ill, since her arrival but has nearly recovered herusual health. Mr. R. N. Hughs and Mr. Frank Glover, of Atlanta have been vis iting the family of Capt. C. P. Mortou. The crops are now laid by and the country folks are enjoying their vacation attending meetings, barbecus, visiting and entertaining isitors. We are fortuna'e in hav ing plenty of hams and lard in the smoke house, chickens in the yar ’, butter and milk in the sprintr house, vegetables in the garden, ruit in the orchard, corn in :he crib, wheat in the bin, horses and mules in the pa ture to carry us whereever we want to go. We have a few new and very stylish turnouts but most of us are cont mt w h uch as we can get, even if it is a •arifl waggon with a pair of strong mules, to carry the crowd of frolic some young folks, often to a fish ing party during the day and meet ing at night. So thus they pass the summer away, and in after years, will rem -mber these ns the very happiest days of their life. NOTICE OF ADMINISTRATION SALE. Mr. Raymond McConnell, went to Chattanooga yesterday morn ing and returned last evning with Will Shaw, a desperate negro want ed here for assault and attempt to murder. Raymond McConnell is a nervy young officer. Sderff Dixon, of Center, Ala , who is in the City today says that the young Rome negro, Rob Tripp, who get into a fight at Cedar blufl recently has been sent up for ten months.
