Mrs, Niolu Husk r, who on June 17 last imirri.'d .1. H. Brister, col., .leader of I in- Picku >ni iy band at Ciiiciiimi .. t).. utter leaving her husbauu. Ewieit L Haskell, seri ously ill here, was found dead in the woods near here late yesterday. She had evidently committed suicide.-There was a bullet holo in her head and a revolver lay near by. Mrs. Haskeil lived with Brister but a few weeks, returning io the bedside of her husband here, soon after the publication of the story of her elopement, with the expla nation that she had received a let ter from her brother-in-law. Chas. Haskell, announcing the death of Mr. 'Haskell. She produced this letter, but her brother-in-law denied that he was the author of it. Mrs. Haskell was forgiven by her husband, who is dangerously ill, and she had been with him almost constantly since her return. HIS DEAD BOY Ihrown Upon the Floor By ths Un natural Parent. Toledo, Ohio, September 27. —A strange case was reported to the Infirmary Directors to-day. On the night of September 23 the ten-year old son of Jacob Paukof died and in the morning the father went for an undertaker. When the latter arrived and be gan the care of the dead child he incidentally spoke of his' charges. The undertaker says that this an gered Poukof, and he stated that the city must pay all the expenses. As the father is the owner of considerable real estate the und< r taker demurred to the city paying the bill, whereupon the father, it is alleged, seized the body by the feet and threw it upon the floor, swearing that it eh mid lie there until the city took care of it. Thu undertaker remonstra'ed, he says, wit > the father, who it is claimed, then took the body from the floor and tossed it u pun a lounge Paukof then left, the house. The city will bury the child, and Paukof will be made to pay the bill. Judge Beekman in suprein? •court today denied a motion to va cate the attachment. The Metropolitan Job Printing Company obtained a judgement against Fitzsimmons for printing executed by them when touring with “Bob Fitzsimmons’ Owp Specialty Company,” to the amount of $3,078.84.
